I woke up at nine o’clock. We had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
We went out in the afternoon and afterwards out for dinner. Then we went to visit Mom and Dad. Alex sure has a lot of fun playing video games with Dad. They play two players of Mario. Alex tells Dad how good he’s doing. Alex really enjoys his time with Dad.
We came home at ten o’clock. Alex got ready for bed when we got home. I went to bed not long after.

I took Kelly to the vet, he’s being having more seizures. Dr. H said he wants me to increase the dosage to three times a day at ½ a pill.
It sure is hard when Kelly has these seizures and there doesn’t seem to be anything they can tell you. They do tests but they can’t say yes your dog has epilepsy. They just presume he has epilepsy. Kelly and I came home.

I woke up at eight thirty. Alex and I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
In the afternoon we went to Marla’s. I’m to have an ultra sound today. On the instruction it says not to go to the bathroom for three hours before the ultra sound. I tried but there was no way I was in agony. I am to drink 32 ounces of water an hour before the ultra sound. I did drink 16 ounces and by the time it got to Marla’s I had to go again. Just before I left I had 16 ounces of water when I got to the hospital they told me there would be an hour wait. I told the receptionist there was no way I could wait that long. She said to void a small amount and drink some water later. I voided everything and drank more water until I was called. It was about an hour and a half wait.
The technician was a lot better than the one I had with Alex. She showed me the outline of the baby, where the baby’s heart, ribs, legs and feet were. She said the placenta was in the right position and my dates were correct.
After I got dressed I quickly went to the bathroom, what a relief! I phoned Marla, she said Alex was fine. Charlie was going to pick him up but I guess he changed his mind.
Marla said she asked Alex about the baby but he wouldn’t talk to her about the baby. I said that’s pretty normal. Alex only talks to us, he won’t talk to his Grandparents about the baby either. Marla said she talked to Lanie about baby names and finally he started to talk about the baby. Marla thought he was pretty funny.
We got home at six o’clock. Charlie was home but he hadn’t started dinner yet. We decided to go out for dinner. We came home after dinner.

After lunch Patrick came over, at two o’clock we sent him home. Alex and I went to the recreation centre but when we got halfway there I realized I had forgotten to get my cheque book. When I went to start the car at home, it wouldn’t start. I don’t know what happened to the car. There was no point in calling BCAA since it takes about an hour for them to come.
Charlie came home at four o’clock. Alex told him that my car wouldn’t start. Charlie jump started my car since it was in front of the garage. The he put the charger on.
We ate dinner at six o’clock. After dinner we watched tv. It’s still a lot of trouble getting Alex ready for bed and getting him to pick up his toys. Alex went to bed at nine o’clock.

I woke up at eight o’clock. Alex was just getting up. He had a shower, got dressed then I got Alex his breakfast. I had tided up the house and put away the dishes while Alex was having his shower.
I gave Kelly his pill then I had a shower, got dressed and had my breakfast. After breakfast I made the beds and did the dishes.
We sat outside, it was really nice out. Alex rode his bike while I wrote in the journal. I talked to Rayon she said they were moving on Thursday and the house would be empty for a couple of weeks. The new people are coming from Hong Kong. She said they sold their house for $174,000 and they bought their new house for $104,0000. The new house is in a new sub division in Campbell River. That really surprised me, I didn’t realize Campbell River had a new subdivision.
We came in at eleven thirty and had lunch. After lunch I phoned Marla. I wanted to ask her about their dog who had epilepsy. Kelly hasn’t eaten or drank any water since yesterday afternoon. Marla said she couldn’t remember but she said she remembers the pills are really hard on the dogs at the beginning. Marla was shocked that the vet would prescribe such a large does. Her dog was on the same amount and her dog was 200 pounds. Kelly is only 20 pounds.
Patrick came over at two o’clock. I didn’t realize when he got here that he was so dirty. So I sent them to Patrick’s house, I didn’t want any of the dirt to get on the carpet! I phoned Morgan to let her know Patrick had been somewhere else when he got dirty. Morgan said I know, Patrick makes his rounds on the street.
Alex came home at four o’clock he said he wanted to come home. Charlie came home at four thirty, we ate dinner at five thirty. Charlie went to H&R Block to do his income tax.

I woke up at seven o’clock. I didn’t sleep very well last night. I was worried that Kelly would have another seizure. I gave Kelly a pill and went back to bed. I slept for a few hours but I was still tired.
Alex woke up, he was the one who woke me up. He was calling me to come to his room. He does this every morning.
Alex had a shower, got dressed then we had breakfast.
After breakfast I made the beds, did the dished and tided up the house. Alex played with Kurt for a little while then it was time for lunch. Patrick came over just when we were having lunch. I told Alex to tell him we were having lunch and he could play later. When Alex had finished his lunch and he phoned Patrick back but Patrick wasn’t there.
I watched tv, wrote in the journal and rested. We went to get the mail in the afternoon. When we came back Kelly was upstairs, I told him to come downstairs. When he came downstairs he fell the last few steps. He really doesn’t have the control of his body. Then when I got upstairs Kelly had peed on the living room carpet. Before I could say anything I heard Kelly going downstairs. Kelly was really upset.
I phoned the vet and talked to Dr. H. I had talked to him earlier this morning. I had wanted to find out what Kelly’s problem was. Dr. H said it’s very hard when they have seizures to find out what the problem is. He said they think Kelly has epilepsy and that he’ll have to be on medication for the rest of his life. This time I told him Kelly had lost control of his bladder. Dr. H said his medication was too strong he should be taking ½ a pill a day. He also said if Kelly is still having problems on Wednesday he should be checked.
When Charlie got home I went to Super Valu. I started to cook dinner when I got home. After dinner I did the dishes then we watched tv.
Alex got ready for bed at eight o’clock. It sure is hard getting him to go to bed. It takes him so long just to get ready.

I woke up at nine o’clock. Alex had a shower and got dressed then we had our breakfast.
After breakfast I had my shower and got dressed. Charlie was vacuuming the house so Alex and I quickly put away his toys. Otherwise Charlie won’t vacuum Alex’s room or the spare room. It sure takes a lot out of me putting anything away. In the afternoon Charlie went grocery shopping. He hadn’t been gone very long when Kelly had another seizure. I phoned the vet once it was over and Kelly seemed to be okay. The vet didn’t phone back right away so I thought it would be better if I gave Kelly a valium.
Dr. R phoned back. I explained that Kelly was still having quite a few seizures. The vet said that was too many and too close together. Dr. R said he was going to start Kelly on a different medication.
Patrick arrived before I talked to the vet. Morgan came to get him shortly after he arrived. She asked Patrick if he wanted to go to the park with them but he said no. Once he saw his mother he ran upstairs rather strange if you ask me. Morgan said they would only be gone an hour. I said that was okay with me.
At two o’clock I phoned Morgan and told her husband I was sending Patrick home now.
We took Kelly with us when we went to pick up the pills. Kelly was really upset, he whined the whole time I was in the vets Charlie said.
We went to the park afterwards and then to DQ. Kelly was acting pretty strange most of the time. He sniffs everything, paces continually and looks totally out of it.
We got home around four o’clock. At the vets the nurse said since he had a valium he wouldn’t be able to start the other medication until tomorrow morning.
We went out for dinner to a Won Ton House. I thought of bringing Kelly with us but it’s better for him in the house if he does have a seizure. He might hurt himself in the car .
After dinner we came and got him, Kelly had another attack. We went to Mom and Dad’s for a visit. Kelly kept on bugging us for some attention especially Mom. Kelly barked at Mom at one point to pat him. It must be very upsetting for them when they don’t know what’s happening
We came home at nine o’clock. Alex had snack and got ready for bed.

I woke up at eight thirty to hear a crash down in the basement and knew right away that something was wrong with Kelly. When I got downstairs Kelly was having another seizure. Once he was able to get up I put him outside, he really needed to go.
I phoned the vet and made an appointment for 11:45 a.m. today. At nine o’clock I phoned Mom and Dad. Dad answered and I asked if they could look after Alex while I took Kelly to the vet. I explained what had happened to Kelly. Dad said that would be okay.
The rest of the morning I spent getting ready to go. I took Alex to Mom and Dad’s at eleven thirty. Mom gave me cheque to pay for the vet which was really nice.
I saw a woman vet, I had never seen her before. She did a urine test which showed that Kelly was okay. She wasn’t sure why he was having the seizures. She said she wanted me to monitor how many seizures he has the next month. The vet gave me a prescription for valium, Kelly is to have ½ a pill every time he has a seizure. I wasn’t too pleased with what was done. It seemed to me more tests should be done.
We went to Mom and Dad’s. Alex and Mom had made chocolate chip cookies. I had cottage cheese since I can’t have any food with sugar in it.
We came home at two thirty. I rested and watched tv, Alex played in the spare room.
When Charlie got home we went out for dinner. The vet said Kelly may not have another seizure, so I thought it would be okay. After dinner we went to the Chew’s.
I was telling Laura about Kelly. She said maybe he’s going crazy. I thought that figures coming from Laura.
We didn’t stay very long but when we got home Kelly had another seizure. I gave Kelly a pill and hoped he wouldn’t have another seizure.
Alex went to bed at nine o’clock and I went to bed not long afterwards.

Alex got undressed and had his shower. Then I made our breakfast. We left at eleven o’clock for Marla’s. Their area sure has changed, there is a new house beside then and one being started in front of that one and a new house being started on the other side of them.
The kids didn’t play that well together. They wanted to play different things. Marla said Lanie has been talking quite rudely lately. Lanie reminded me of how Alex has been acting lately.
We stayed until five o’clock and came home. Charlie wasn’t home yet he must be working overtime again. I started to cook dinner. Alex said there was no way he was going to eat that junk. I said that’s too bad because that’s what we’re having. Alex was mad because we were having pork chops.
Charlie came home at six o’clock and we ate dinner shortly afterwards.
After dinner I washed the dishes and made tapioca pudding. By the time it was ready it was time for Alex to go to bed. It was actually past his bedtime.

We left to go to the lab at ten o’clock. The nurse had a lot of trouble getting my blood, I had to have three pokes.
We came home right away. I needed to have something to eat.
After lunch Patrick came over. They went to Patrick’s house at two o’clock. Alex phoned me to tell me he was at Patrick’s house. Alex came home at four o’clock. He said Patrick, Peter and his mom were going for a walk.
Charlie phoned to say he would be home at six o’clock, he was working overtime. He’ll be really tired tonight he was up at four o’clock. He couldn’t sleep his allergy was bothering him.
We ate dinner when Charlie came home. Alex and I went to Safeway after dinner, we needed some groceries. I was going to go by myself but Alex said he had to come.
When we got home Alex had his snack and got ready for bed. I watched tv and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up just after eight o’clock to hear Alex calling me. I went into his room and Alex said he was hungry. I told him I would get him breakfast after he had a shower and got dressed.
We had breakfast and then we watched tv. Alex said he wasn’t feeling well. I took his temperature and it was up a bit. I had given him cough and cold medicine after breakfast since he said it hurt when he coughed. It had been an hour since the cough medicine so I gave him Tempra. Alex layed on the couch and I put the blanket on Alex.
After lunch Patrick came over but I told him Alex was sick and couldn’t play.
The rest of the afternoon we didn’t do much. Alex’s temperature did go back to normal.
Charlie came home at four o’clock. He made fried rice for dinner and I made us a salad.
After dinner Dr. C phoned to tell me she had the test result from the diabetes tolerance test. She said I was border line and that she wanted me to see at dietician within the next couple of weeks.
I got Alex ready for bed. Charlie was suppose to read him a story but he told Alex he was too tired. So I had to read Alex a story. Alex loves to have a store before bed, he hasn’t done speak and read for quite awhile.

I had breakfast which made me feel terrible afterwards. Charlie went grocery shopping while Alex and I stayed home.
After lunch I felt quite a bit better. I watched TV with Alex.
At three o’clock Patrick came to play with Alex. At four o’clock they went to Patrick’s.
Mom had phoned earlier and invited us for dinner. I phoned Morgan at five o’clock and asked her to send Alex home. We left for Mom and Dad’s shortly after Alex got home.
Charlie and Alex had to go home since Alex’s pants got wet at the back. We stayed until nine o’clock and came home.

I woke up at nine o’clock. I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
I phoned Mom around eleven o’clock to tell her Victoria had been trying to get a hold of her and that we were going to Bellingham for the day.
We left after eleven o‘clock. My stomach was a bit queasy so the drive there wasn’t that great for me. The line up at the border was pretty long. We got to the Bellis Fair mall at one o’clock.
The first thing we did was to get something to eat. Alex kept on bugging me to go to a toy store which we had quite a time finding since it wasn’t listed in the directory. We did find it finally and Alex bought a transformer. Most of the toys were a lot cheaper than in Coquitlam.
We shopped around the mall and Charlie bought two pairs of pants and a pair of shorts. I bought two maternity tops.
We left Bellingham at four o’clock. We stopped at Blaine to get gas, we arrived at the border at four thirty. By the time we went through and Charlie went to customs to declare our items it was five o’clock.
Charlie and I wanted to go to a restaurant for dinner. Alex said he wasn’t hungry and he wanted to go home. I asked him if he was feeling sick but Alex said he wasn’t. Alex wanted to go home so he could color in his new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle coloring book!
We went to Hon Lok but they were already reserved for the next few hours. Then we went to Shanghai and were able to get a table. Alex did eat dinner, he actually ate quite a bit.
We got home at seven thirty. My leg was really bothering me and the trip had really tired me out.
Mom phoned at eight thirty.
At nine o’clock I asked Charlie to get Alex ready for bed that I was tired and I was going to bed.

I woke up at eight thirty. I had breakfast then I watched tv. Alex woke up after nine o’clock, I made him his breakfast. Alex had already gotten dressed.
Kurt phoned and asked Alex over to play. Alex told him he was having breakfast and would phone back. I had a shower and got dressed. Alex phoned back but the phone was busy. Kurt phoned shortly afterwards and Alex went over.
I tided up the house and did the dishes. That really tired me out, so I had a rest and watched tv.
Alex came home at eleven thirty. We had lunch soon afterwards. At one o’clock Patrick came over. I didn’t realize he had such a cough until he had been here for awhile. Then again Alex has a cold so I guess it’ll be okay.
After three o’clock they went to Patrick’s house. As usual Alex didn’t phone, I prefer that he phones so I know he got there okay.
I watched tv and wrote in the journal. Charlie came home at four o’clock. I phoned at five o’clock and asked Morgan to send Alex home.
We went to McDonald’s for dinner then we went to London Drugs and stopped at Mom and Dad’s.
Dad seems to be feeling quite a bit better since he started the pressurized treatment. He’s had at least one night he slept through the night.
We left at nine o’clock. I got Alex ready for bed but by the time he had his snack and got ready for bed it was ten o’clock.

I woke up at nine o’clock. Alex and I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed. I also got Alex to have a shower and wash his hair.
By the time we had gotten dressed and I had cleaned up the kitchen it was time for us to go to the doctors.
When we sat in the waiting room, Alex wouldn’t do what he was told. First of all he laid across a couple of the chairs. Then when I told him to sit properly Alex ran and jumped into a chair which banged someone else’s chair. I was sure glad when they called Alex’s name.
I asked Dr. C about the blood test which showed that my folic acid was low. I wanted to know how much fruit and vegetable I should be taking daily. Dr. C said six servings daily and it should be easy to consume that. I said well most people I know don’t eat that much daily. I also asked her what affect it would have on the baby. Would the baby be okay and use the folic acid up or would the baby be in trouble. Dr. C said she didn’t know if the baby was okay or not. I found that very alarming. Dr. C said the test for folic acid is not accurate and it can’t be accurate. She said she would send me for another blood test that I should go a week after the glucose test.
Dr. C checked Alex and said he was okay. I should keep an eye on his cold. She said the rash on Alex’s stomach didn’t look infectious. Alex got his balloon then we left.
When we got home we had lunch. After lunch we didn’t do much.
Timothy came at three thirty. He wasn’t here very long when he started to leave. He said he had told Kurt he would play with him and he was going to his house. I said Alex can phone him and tell him to come over here. Kurt came over but then he and Timothy decided to go to Timothy’s house. They said they asked Alex but Alex said they never did. Alex was really upset and mad. He called them a few bad names. I told the boys that it wasn’t very nice to leave and not to invite Alex. They decided to stay but at five o’clock they both left. Timothy has to be home for dinner at five o’clock. Alex was mad at Kurt for leaving with Timothy.

I woke up to the alarm at seven thirty. I was going to have a shower first but Alex woke up. He’s not feeling very well today. Alex asked to have fruit cup for breakfast. I had my shower while Alex watched tv.
I took Alex to Nora’s while I went for the blood test. The blood test is to take three hours so I didn’t want to take Alex with me. Nora said she was taking William to the doctor at 12:15 p.m. so they probably wouldn’t be back when I got home.
I went to the lab at Leigh Square. I had to give a urine sample then they took blood. They had trouble getting it out of my left arm. The nurse said they would have to try the other arm. I said I don’t know if you’ll want to . The nurse said why not then I showed her my arm. The nurse said when did that happen. I said last week when I was in having blood work. The nurse said that’s horrible that shouldn’t have happened. Then I had to drink a bottle of glucose water which taste pretty bad. Then after that it was every hour for three hours. I should have had only four pokes but since they had trouble I had seven pokes.
I did feel quite hungry in the beginning but after awhile I felt okay, just a little shaky.
I got home just after one o’clock. I went to get Alex but they weren’t back yet. When they did come back Nora phoned and I told her to send Alex home. Alex said when he got home that Kurt’s mom was going to take William to the hospital. Alex said that there was something wrong with Williams leg.
I felt quite badly that Nora had to take all of them into the doctors office. If I had known I would have told her to bring Alex to the lab for the last hour.
I had a large lunch since I hadn’t had breakfast this morning. I found not having any food for such a long period made me feel tired and just not right.
The rest of the afternoon we watched tv. Charlie didn’t get home until six o’clock. I was feeling too tired to do any cooking. We went to Pizza hut for dinner then we went to Safeway and came home.

I woke up at nine o’clock. I made breakfast for Alex and myself. Alex didn’t wake up until nine thirty and then he had to have a shower.
After breakfast I cleaned up the kitchen since there were a lot of dishes left from last night. Charlie had said he would do everything but it didn’t work out that way.
I had my shower at eleven o’clock and I had to hurry up since Shirley was coming over in half an hour.
We left at noon to go to P.J.’s for lunch Brent was in school, so it was just the four of us. Alex was really good he colored most of the time. Monique was more of a problem but they don’t take the children to restaurants very often and she is at an age were it’s hard to keep her amused.
Alex asked me to ask Auntie Shirley if Brent could come over after school. Shirley said they would only be able to stay for an hour as Brent had to get ready for Beavers.
We got home at one thirty. Alex complained quite a bit of the time. It looks like Alex is coming down with a cold, he’s cranky as well.
Brent, Monique and Shirley came at three fifteen. Alex, Brent and Monique went into the playroom. They played okay except when Monique knocked down something of Alex’s and he yelled at Monique. She then started to cry. Shirley didn’t do anything so I said that I heard Monique crying. Shirley said I hear her crying but I was seeing if she would stop. I would rather investigate because you never know if they’ve hurt themselves.
They left at four o’clock. We watched tv then Alex and I had leftovers for dinner. Charlie wanted something else for dinner. I tried to eat as much as possible since I have to start fasting after seven thirty tonight.
I ate quite a bit but it’s hard when you know you can’t eat after a certain time.
Alex got ready for bed at seven thirty much to his disgust! We have to get up early tomorrow. It was Charlie’s turn to get Alex ready and read him a story. Alex said I had to tuck him in bed as Papa doesn’t tuck in very good.
I watched tv and phoned Mom and Dad’s to find out what happened with Dad. He was having treatment on his leg. Mom said Dad’s leg was sore from the pressure I hope it wouldn’t be too hard on him since he has to go every day until they see some kind of improvement.
I went to bed at ten o’clock. I’m still pretty tired but not as tired as at the beginning of the pregnancy.

Alex wished me “Happy Birthday”! Then he gave me my present, a bouquet of flowers. They sure were nice. Charlie gave me a jacket.
Mom and Dad came over in the afternoon and gave me another ceramic pig. She’s really cute with flowers all over her.
We took Alex to Mom and Dad’s around four o’clock. Then we went to the Keg for dinner and a movie later. We got to Mom and Dad’s at nine o’clock. Alex said he was having a good time. Mom and Alex made cookies then Dad and Alex were making a caterpillar.
We stayed for awhile then we came home. Alex had a snack and went to bed. I went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight o’clock. Charlie has two days off, there isn’t any work. He had yesterday and now today off.
We had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed. In the afternoon we went to the mall but my leg hurt so much that I couldn’t walk. This is the worst it has ever been. Normally the hip joint aches on a daily basis but right now the back of the thigh has a very sharp pain going through it. Then with walking in the mall the pain got a lot worse where it’s hard to bear with it.
When we came home I decided to have my hair cut. I made an appointment for this afternoon. I got Janet who cuts Alex’s hair. I was glad I got her she’s really good.
I came home around four o’clock. Charlie had started to cook dinner, we ate around five o’clock.
Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I went to bed at ten o’clock.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; April 5, 1989
I woke up at ten o’clock. Alex and I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my sciatic nerve. The pain is around my hip, it’s an ache in the beginning and gets worse the more I walk. I should probably be resting more and lying down. I won’t take any pain killers, so I just have to deal with it.
In the afternoon Kurt came over to play with Alex. I watched tv while they played. Kurt went home around four o’clock.
We ate dinner at six o’clock. After dinner we watched tv. Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I went to bed at ten o’clock.

I woke up at eight o’clock. Alex and I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
In the morning I went to the doctor’s. Alex stayed with Mom and Dad. Dr. C asked the routine questions to do with family medical history. She said because diabetes was in the family she wanted me to go for a glucose tolerance test. When I told her Joan had it in her pregnancy and she was 33 years old the doctor said well you should be okay since you’re not thirty yet. I told her I was 32. It seemed like she didn’t believe me, she looked in my chart and said oh well maybe you’ll be okay. Dr. C said I seemed to be doing okay and to have a few test within the next week.
I picked up Alex and we went home. We ate dinner at six o’clock. After dinner we watched tv. Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I watched tv and went to bed at ten o’clock.

I woke up at nine o’clock. I said to Alex “HAPPY BIRHTDAY ALEX!” Alex said thanks Mama. We had our breakfast then I gave Alex his other present. Alex really liked his turtle pants and P.J.‘s Alex wore his pants right away, they’re a bit big but Alex didn’t care.
Alex asked me to make him a cake. Usually when Alex’s party and his birthday are far apart I make a cake. Anyways Alex really wanted a number 5 birthday cake so I made him one. After I had iced it Alex put on assorted sprinkles all over the cake.
Charlie left for work at two thirty. Alex played with his friends in the afternoon.

Alex woke me up at eight o’clock. Today is the big day, it’s Alex’s party!
We had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed. Alex also had his shower but I didn’t get him into his party clothes until much later.
Unfortunately Alex started his schedule a few days ago and with being on Prednisone, it sure doesn’t help. Alex was hard to handle today and I hate to get after him when it’s his party today. Alex really got out of control when I was in the bathroom. I walked into our bedroom to see Alex biting Charlie’s shirt. He looked like he was trying to rip his sleeve off! The two of them were screaming and yelling at each other. I don’t know what they were arguing about but it sure was something. I told Alex to come and sit down. I had to yell at him before he would sit down. Charlie left the room while I talked to Alex. Alex finally calmed down so I could tell him to get into his party clothes. This all happened half an hour before we were to leave for McDonald’s.
Morgan had phoned earlier and asked us if we could take Patrick with us. Charlie told her that would be okay. Patrick arrived when we were getting Alex dressed. Alex still wasn’t over being so upset.
Earlier we had decorated the house with balloons and set up the dining room table with dinosaur cups, plates, napkins and a tablecloth.
By the time we got to McDonald’s I was exhausted. It was hard for me to sit on the kids chairs but it’s a party for Alex so that’s okay.
Paul and Laura never turned up, we thought maybe because it was daylight savings time that was why they didn’t show up.
We had all the kids back to the house for cake and ice cream. They were quite a handle full running around and getting louder and louder. I had to tell them to be quiet a few times. I’m sure everyone thought I was a crouch but I really wasn’t up to it.
The kids that were there were Patrick, Kurt Andrews, Brent, Lanie and Paxton. Carrie and Robert still didn’t turn up. Charlie phoned the police and the hospital but didn’t find anything out. I said don’t worry about it they’re probably lost.
Marla said nobody could be lost for that long it must be three or four hours now. I said knowing Paul, he’s lost. Charlie had talked to Laura earlier, she said she had stayed home with Neil and Paul had left around eleven o’clock.
Most of the kids left around four o’clock. I had bought the Turtle movie for Alex, which they watched.
Mom invited us to come down for dinner. I said we would be down around five o’clock.
Carrie phoned at five o’clock. She talked to Charlie, she told him they had gotten lost! Charlie was really mad, he asked Carrie to call her father to the phone. Charlie asked Paul what happened, not in so many words! Paul said he ended up in Maple Ridge and that he had gone along Brunette. Charlie said you can’t end up in Maple Ridge if you go along Brunette. You were either in Coquitlam or New Westminster. Charlie was really mad.
We went to Mom and Dad’s. Alex brought some of his presents with him. The Lego racing set we gave him and Beserko that Paxton gave him. Alex also got Ghostbusters popper from Patrick, dinosaur stencils from Kurt, coloring books from Monique, a golf set from Brent and micromasters from Lanie. We also gave him Turtle pants and Turtle P.J.‘s but we will give it to Alex on his birthday. Mom and Dad gave Alex a jacket, t-shirt and shorts.
We stayed until ten o’clock. Alex had a good time building the racing set.
Alex went to bed shortly after we got home. He told me how much he enjoyed his party. I went to bed as well.

I woke up at nine o’clock. It’s April Fools today, Alex wanted to play a April Fools joke on Charlie, but he had already gone out!
We had our breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
In the afternoon we went out, there were a few things I still need for Alex’s party. Alex is very excited about his birthday. He’s been very hard to handle the last few weeks. That seems to be pretty normal with most kids.
We went out for dinner then we came home. Alex went to bed at nine o’clock. I went to bed as well, I’m so tired.
