Diagnosis: Leukemia; January 8, 1988

I woke up at nine o’clock. I got dressed and left before ten o’clock for the exercise class. I got home at eleven thirty.

George had come over to look at the basement. Charlie said he wants George to finish it.

Alex went for a nap at one o’clock. At two o’clock we went to Nora’s, she asked me to stay for tea. I left at three o’clock, Nora dropped Alex off at four o’clock.

It started snowing this afternoon. At one point it was really coming down. Alex wanted to go outside to shovel the snow. I stayed in the garage and cleaned out my car while Alex shovelled the snow.

One of the neighbours’ two houses up came and asked if she could use our phone. She said her name was Donna Bentley and she had forgotten her key. She said her daughter was suppose to be here already. We talked for awhile then she went to her car to wait for her daughter.

Kurt came over to help Alex shovel the snow. Alex and I took him home after they had played for awhile.

We had dinner after five o’clock. Then we went to the mall.

We came home at eight o’clock. We watched TV then I got Alex ready for bed.

I went to bed after eleven o’clock.
