Alex woke me up at eight o’clock, he wanted to know if there was anything on TV. I told him that cartoons were on channel ten. Alex went to the living room to watch TV. I laid in bed for awhile then I got up and made pancakes for breakfast. Alex was mad when he found that I had made pancakes for breakfast, he said that he thought that we were going to go to McDonald’s for breakfast. I told Alex that a man was coming to give me a key to Grandma’s house sometime this morning. Alex seemed to be really annoyed with this.
The other agent called at ten o’clock and said he would be over in a couple of minutes. I wasn’t dressed yet so I had to hurry and get dressed then he didn’t come until forty five minutes later.
Alex said he wanted to go in his pool so I got it ready. I phoned Mom to let her know that the agent had brought the key. She asked if the key to the garage was on it and I told her that it wasn’t. She said she would phone the agent and see what had happened. Mom phoned back at noon and said that the agent would be coming with the key. We waited until one o’clock but he didn’t show up.
We went to Save-On-Foods to grocery shop, when I got the bill it seemed to be a bit high so when I got home I checked it and found that I had been charged for fifteen of one item instead of just one item. I phoned the store and they told me to come in for a refund.
I put away the groceries and we had something to eat. By this time it was four o’clock so we left for Save-On-Foods and also went to Video Stop to get a couple of movies. I started to cook dinner, Alex watched his movie while it was cooking. We ate dinner at seven o’clock, after dinner Alex watched his movie again. We rented Transformer the movie and Nuts.
I got Alex ready for bed at nine o’clock then I watched my movie. It was really good I was knitting while I watched it.
I went to bed at midnight.

Alex woke me up before eight o’clock, he wanted to know if there was anything on TV for him to watch. I told him what was on and he went to the living room.
I got up and made us our breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed. Since we had gotten up so early I decided to clean the front of the house. Alex wanted to help so I got him a sponge and we both cleaned.
A little while later, Alex wanted something to eat so we came in. Before I could get him something to eat Mom and Dad arrived they had been at the house with the alarm people. They had wanted to get the key today but the locks hadn’t been changed yet. Their agent told them to talk to the Leaders agent but the show home doesn’t open until one o’clock and they didn’t want to wait that long. Mom wondered if the agent could leave it with me, I told her that was okay. We had cheese and crackers and later brownies. They left just after twelve o’clock.
Alex and I finished washing down the house. It looks pretty good now.
We went to the mall and I was able to get a pair of sandals. It’s been so hot and I don’t like to wear thongs when I drive. After the mall we went to Video Stop to get a movie, Alex didn’t want a movie he said he wanted a color car when we were in the mall. We came home and I started to cook dinner. Alex wouldn’t eat the fettuccini I had made but he ate most of the salad I gave him. Then he wanted brownies for dessert.
After dinner Alex watched his shows while I did the dishes and tided up the house.
Charlie had phoned before dinner, Alex picked up the phone and said hi but when he realized it was Charlie he didn’t want to talk to him. Alex said to me it’s Pa and he sounded really disgusted. I talked to Charlie and he asked to talk to Alex but Alex said to Charlie that he wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t talk to him. I could tell that Charlie wanted to talk to Alex but there wasn’t anything I could do. After I got off the phone I asked Alex why he didn’t talk to Charlie and he said he was mad at him for leaving. I tried to explain to him that he had left to see Grandma because she was sick and had to go to the hospital quite often. Alex just wouldn’t listen to me.
Charlie said his mother isn’t doing that well she is in a wheelchair and they have to feed her. It sure is too bad that he has to see her this way, it must be very upsetting to him.
I got Alex ready for bed before nine o’clock, he complained that he wasn’t tired and he couldn’t sleep I told him just to lie in bed and play with his toys that he had brought to bed. I figured that he should be tired since he didn’t have a nap.
I watched the video that I had rented, it’s called Roxanne. It was pretty funny I quite enjoyed it. I taped a Michael Jackson show and went to bed.

Alex woke me up before eight o’clock, he wanted to know if his shows were on again! That’s two mornings in a row he wanted to know.
Alex said he wanted breakfast but he wanted whatever I was going to have. After breakfast I had a shower and got dressed. Alex played while I put away his laundry, the towels and changed the sheets on my bed. We had an early lunch as we are going to see a movie this afternoon. Alex wants to see Short Circuit 2. I gave him a choice of Bambi, Short Circuit 2, Pee Wee Herman or Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Alex was really excited to go to the movies. He kept on asking me when we were going to go. We left at one fifteen and they hadn’t opened the box office yet. There was quite a few other people there but they were there to see Bambi. I told Alex that there might not be anybody watching Short Circuit 2 and Alex said so what happens if there is? I wish he would quite doing that to me.
About half way through the movie Alex sat on my lap and fell asleep. I tried waking him up but he didn’t wake up until almost the end. After the movie I said to Alex that we shouldn’t have gone, it seems that every time I take him to the movies he falls asleep. The only time he didn’t was when we went with Brent and it was the first time he had gone.
After the movie we went to the mall and I took Alex to Wendy’s for dinner, they had Definitely Dinosaurs there with the Dino pak. After dinner we came home. I did some typing while Alex played with his dinosaurs. I watered the front and backyards. Alex came outside to play in his sandbox. All of a sudden I heard him scream. I thought he had hurt himself and I went to see what was wrong. He said he had run through the sprinkler. Then he went inside to answer the phone but he didn’t get it in time, it had already gone to recording. Then he started to scream at Kelly which makes Kelly bark. I told Alex to go to his room. This made Alex cry so I explained that it wasn’t nice to do that to Kelly as he might bite him one of these times. It took Alex about ten minutes to calm down. He was quite mad at me since I had put him into his P.J.‘s
Alex is watching his shows right now on tape, it’s now eight o’clock. I’m going to watch TV after I put Alex to bed and do some more writing in the journal. I only have a few more days and I’ll be caught up!

Alex woke me up before eight o’clock, he wanted to know if there were any show on for him. I told him that the end of Ghostbusters was on. He asked me which channel and went into the living room to watch TV. I feel back to sleep but not for long as Alex wanted to watch Dinosaucers. I got our breakfast and watched TV with Alex.
I had a shower and got dressed. Mom and Dad arrived at nine thirty. They had to go to the Lawyers on North Road and the Real Estate Agent for their house. The Reality was having an open house for other agents so they couldn’t leave Geordie at home. They asked me to look after him while they went to the lawyers. They didn’t have to be at the lawyers until ten thirty. So we sat in the kitchen and talked. I told them Charlie had phoned last night. He said that he didn’t take their phone number with him as he figured that he would remember it. But he didn’t and had to ask the hotel clerk to get it for him. Charlie said he didn’t arrive in Singapore until eleven o’clock at night. So when his father had phoned me he hadn’t arrived yet, he arrived half an hour after his father talked to me. Charlie said he saw his mother in the hospital but she wasn’t awake so she didn’t realize that he was there. The hospital is near the airport, well it’s in the same town which is an hours drive from where they live.
Mom and Dad left for their appointment just after ten o’clock. Geordie was pretty upset but he was okay after I gave him the beef jerky that Dad had left him.
They came back around noon, I invited them to stay for lunch. Alex was pretty silly while they were here, he was running around the house. Mom said he must be full of beans.
They didn’t stay very long, Mom said they had to be home as they were meeting with their agent. After they left Rayon was outside and we talked for awhile. She asked me where Charlie was, I knew that she knew since Allison had told her. So I told her that Charlie had left. She tried to act shocked and said Charlie left you! It was really quite phoney, I guess she figured that I didn’t know that she knew. People sure can act funny. I then explained to her where Charlie had gone, she then told me her husband was going away in August for his holidays. She said she had just finished her holidays. Rayon said it’s good to have the men gone you can’t have them around all the time.
Alex wanted to go into the house to get something to eat. He had something to eat and watched TV and fell asleep. I put him into his bed but he woke up and went back to watching tv. Then about fifteen minutes later he fell asleep so I put him back to bed this time he did fall asleep.
While he was asleep I cleaned the microwave and made Chocolate Brownies. I was about to make dinner but realized that I had run out of butter. I woke Alex up to tell him I was going to the store and if he wanted to come he had better wake up. Alex and I went to Super Valu and came back. By that time it was six thirty and I started to cook dinner. We ate after seven o’clock. We watched tv until ten o’clock. I had put Alex to bed around nine o’clock but he said he was too scared and wanted to sleep with me. We both went to bed.

I woke up at six thirty to hear the phone ringing, it was Charlie’s father. He said where’s Charlie and I told him he should be in Singapore. He asked when he was arriving form Singapore and I told him I didn’t know. There was no way I was going to say what time as I was afraid that maybe the plane might be delayed.
I figured there was no point in going back to sleep and anyways I had a terrible time sleeping last night. I kept on hearing all theses noises and then I would go and investigate. I must have woken up three or four times in the middle of the night.
I made banana muffins for breakfast then Alex woke up he still isn’t feeling that great. He asked for a fruit cup but he didn’t eat it again. I had a shower and got dressed. I vacuumed the house, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors before my shower.
Marla and the kids arrived before noon. After lunch we went outside and the kids went into the pool. Alex wasn’t in the greatest of moods. He didn’t want to share at all, he would grab things away from Paxton if he wanted them. Alex was rude when he talked to me and I had to chase him around the backyard before I could get a hold of him. He seems to use a lot of bad words.
After the pool the kids went into the sandbox then it was time for them to go home. Alex watched TV but he fell asleep on the couch. I put him into his bed but he woke up and wanted to go back to the living room to watch the rest of his show.
We ate dinner at five o’clock, after dinner we went outside, Alex wanted to ride his bike and I swept out the garage.
We came in before six o’clock and Alex watched TV while I typed in the journal. I got Alex ready for bed at eight o’clock, he’s pretty tired he didn’t even want to go to sleep on the top bunk. He said he was too tired to go up top.
I finished typing in the journal, it’s now nine o’clock. I’m going to watch TV and catch up on my writing in the journal.

I woke up to go to the bathroom at seven o’clock and decided I might as well go and have a shower since we will have to leave at ten o’clock for the airport. After I had my shower I got dressed, had breakfast and did some stuff around the house. Alex woke up at eight o’clock and I got him a fruit cup which he didn’t even eat. He mustn’t be feeling that great if he won’t even have anything for breakfast.
We left at nine forty five, on the way there, there was an accident. Charlie said if I have to I’m going to get out and tell the flag person I’m on the way to the airport. We were stopped since the accident was in front of us. Then when the flag person let us go, Charlie said she better let me go and not try and stop me because I’m going.
We got to the airport at ten thirty. Alex wanted to play video games and have something to eat right away. I told him that Pa had to go and check in his luggage before we could do anything. Alex was pretty annoyed about that. After Charlie had checked in his luggage we went to the snack bar, it sure is expensive it cost $6.10 for two drinks, a donut and a sandwich.
We sat in the lounge until Charlie had to go to the gate. He said he felt really weird about going home and leaving us behind. When Charlie went through the gate to the plane, Alex started to cry. He said he was really upset that Charlie was leaving and he didn’t want him to go. I told him he would be coming back and not to worry about it. Alex said he thought Charlie wasn’t going to come back. A young guy beside us told Alex that he thought the same thing but his father had come back and he was now on his way to Singapore and he was going to visit him in September. This didn’t mean anything to Alex all he wanted was his Pa to come back. He sure was upset, Charlie could see us through the glass on the way to the plane and saw Alex crying. He motioned for us to go. We left and watched the plane go which seemed to take forever. It didn’t go until almost one o’clock. Alex lost interest in the plane he just wanted to go,we left for awhile and came back. The plane was already being taxied to the runway and at first I thought the plane was gone. I said to Alex too bad the plane has gone. Alex was upset that he had missed the plane going away so I told him to go to the window and check. Then I realized that it had just started to be taxied. So we watched it until it went behind the buildings. As we were going to the car we saw about four or five planes taking off but we didn’t see Charlie’s.
We went to the mall, Alex had some money from Grandma, so I figured this would be a good time as he was so upset. I told Alex he could have the Ghostbusters plane even though he didn’t have enough money. I wanted him to have something really special.
Alex could hardly wait to go home and play with his new toy. I was glad he was feeling so much better.
Mom had left a message so after I put the plane together I phoned her. She wanted to know how we had made out at the airport. I told her how upset Alex had been at the airport, she wasn’t surprised that he would be upset. By that time it was time to have dinner, after dinner I typed in the journal and we went to London Drugs to buy some stuff. I bought a new dish rack the old one looks terrible.
We came home and I typed some more in the journal, it was so hot that I didn’t get Alex ready for bed until nine o’clock. I typed some more and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight thirty, I made pancakes from scratch for breakfast and we all had three each. Believe it or not that’s all the recipe made.
Charlie went outside to wash his car. I had a shower and got dressed. Mom phoned after eleven to invite us for dinner, I said we would be over some time in the afternoon.
Shirley phoned earlier and asked us if we wanted to go to a park but we had too many things to do so I told her maybe another time. She said she thought Charlie was annoyed with them for letting Monique go by herself in the Cheese run. I told her he wasn’t annoyed he was concerned. I explained about Alain how he disappeared for an hour before they were able to find him. Charlie felt because Monique was so young she should be watched and I agree with him, we don’t even let Alex go there by himself.
After Charlie had washed his car, he cut the grass. We went grocery shopping and went to the mall. We met Marla and James as well as the kids, they wished Charlie a good trip. We got home around two thirty, put away the groceries and left for Mom and Dad’s.
After dinner Alex watched TV and then he came outside and joined us. He and Dad had a great time shooting each other. Alex got really noisy and we had quite the time controlling him, he just wouldn’t calm down.
We left at nine o’clock, I had a terrible time staying awake. I felt like my eyes were going to fall out of my head. On the way home Alex said he was going to throw up so I sat with him about half way home. It didn’t really seem like he was going to throw up because when I joked with him he was okay.
Alex wanted to eat when we got home but I told him it would be better if he just went to bed. I didn’t want him to eat then throw up in the middle of the night.
Charlie finished packing all his stuff for his trip tomorrow, it sure is going to be weird not having him around for two weeks. We haven’t been separated since before we were married.
I watched tv and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up to hear Alex playing in the spare room, he was yelling about something and Charlie told him to be quiet as I was sleeping but it was too late! It was already nine o’clock so I didn’t mind.
I had my breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed. It’s going to be one of those days I expect with Alex, he’s in a funny sort of mood. It always seems when we have to go to a party he’s on his worst behavior and even if we tell him if he doesn’t behave we won’t go he still acts up. Not too much we can do about it, I wouldn’t not go to a party eventhough we do tell him so.
I tided up the house, did the dishes, cleaned up Alex’s room and did some laundry. Adam dropped by just before noon, he said he had been horseback riding at Alpine which is supposedly near us. He asked me what I was going to do for the next two weeks. I told him I didn’t know, he seemed quite sympathetic about us being apart. He said he and his wife had gone on separate vacations one year and it was no fun.
I have been feeling quite upset about Charlie going and I know it’s the only way but it’s hard when we have never been apart.
Aaron was suppose to come with Monique to pick up the cake at one o’clock but he didn’t show up until almost one thirty which is when it starts. Adam had left long before that so we were all ready.
We finally got to Chuck E. Cheese, and Alex sat beside Brent. There was this couple they had met at a park whose child got along with Brent quite well and they saw them at the park quite a number of times. They decided they might as well exchange phone numbers and have been seeing each other on a regular basis. Anyways as soon as I saw the woman I took an instant dislike to her. She seemed so sure of herself it was absolutely irritating and she seemed to be such a snob. I thought to myself how could Shirley get along with her, but her friends have changed greatly and I find myself having less and less in common with her.
Basically I stayed with Charlie and Alex, I didn’t bother staying with Shirley as she seemed to be too involved with the other people which suited me just fine. Alex went in the cheese run and I had to talk to him to tell him to calm down or else he just wears himself out and we’ll pay for it later. Ruth Ann’s husband (the snob!) over heard us and gave us quite the look but I turned to Charlie and said I didn’t care what other people thought I wasn’t going to have him get sick. After everyone had eaten lunch the kids went off to play on the rides. Shirley came over to us and said we’re ready to have the cake. I was a little irritated as Brent had the cake in front of him and already blown out the candles.
I said to Charlie, he’s already blown out the candles we didn’t even see that. Then Ruth Ann stares at me for quite a few minutes and I stared back. I turned to Charlie and said what is her problem, Charlie said I don’t know. Ruth Ann then turns her back to us and talks to her husband. The feeling is probably mutual.
We left after the time limit was up, I couldn’t wait to leave. That may not be too nice but it was an absolute zoo in there. We could be somewhere else and have a much more enjoyable time then to hear fifty kids screaming and yelling.
When we got home we relaxed for awhile before we went out. Charlie was looking for some travel stuff still and he wanted to pick up Chow Mien for dinner. Alex and Charlie ate it when we got home. I was too full from lunch to eat anything else.
Alex played for awhile before he went to bed, it was after eight o’clock when he went to bed. I watched TV and wrote in the journal, I’m still trying to catch up on my writing. I went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight thirty, the repairman is suppose to phone between eight thirty and nine o’clock, so I figured I had better get up in case he comes shortly afterwards. He did phone and said he would like to come in the mooring which suited me just fine. I told him the additional problems we were having with the fridge. The fridge last night around ten o’clock became quite warm and the top freezer is warm as well. The divider between the top fridge and the bottom fridge is hot to touch. Charlie unscrewed the light bulbs as they were so hot.
Alex and I had breakfast then we got dressed. I tided up the house, did the dishes and put Alex’s toys away.
The repairman came at ten forty five and as soon as he looked at the fridge he knew what was wrong with it. He said the fan has gone which controlled the top freezer and the fridge. All the cold air was on the bottom freezer and just stays there. He came back from the van with the new part and said the only thing is that the fan costs $70. As far as I’m concerned there’s not much we can do about it, most parts are pretty expensive theses days. By the time he was finished it costs up $129.80, that was including labour. He was only here for half an hour but he charges for the whole hour. Must be nice!
About ten minutes later Aaron phoned to see if the fridge was working okay, he wanted to put Brent’s cake in the fridge. I had told Shirley yesterday that I didn’t know if the fridge would be okay as it wasn’t working properly. I told Aaron that it had been repaired and that it seemed okay. He then told me he would be over between six thirty and seven o’clock.
We had lunch and we were getting ready to go out when Charlie phoned to find out what had happened. He said it was a good thing it happened before he left. I was glad too!
Alex was feeling so down, I thought I would rent him a movie, we went to Save-On-Foods and got the movie as well as a few other items.
Alex has been very hard to handle today, he keeps saying what happens if I do this or if I was to do that. It really seems like he’s trying to make me mad. I felt very tired by four o’clock.
Charlie had to go to the travel agent to pay and pick up his airline ticket. I figure he would be really late but he came home around five o’clock. We had leftover pizza form last night.
Charlie wanted to go out but we had to wait for Aaron to come with the cake. He didn’t arrive until after seven o’clock, he didn’t want Alex to see it he was afraid he would tell Brent. I told Alex to go to his room which made him really mad and he started to scream. He really wanted to see the cake, and I know he wouldn’t tell Brent what it was. Their friend did the cake and he sure did a great job. It was a Dinosaur cake and it had eyeballs on it that seemed to be moving.
After Aaron left we went to the mall, Charlie was looking for some stuff for when he goes away. We didn’t stay very long as Alex was being a brat. He would try and hid or be really mouthy.
We came home around nine o’clock. Alex played for awhile then I got him ready for bed. I watched TV and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight o’clock and realized I had better hurry up and have my shower. We have a doctor’s appointment at ten o’clock. Alex woke up, had his breakfast and watched the movies that Charlie had rented for him. After his movie I got Alex to have a shower then I got him dressed.
We didn’t have to wait when we saw Dr. C. She seemed to be very nice, she said she had read all about Alex and was glad to have met him. Alex acted very silly towards her, he wouldn’t do anything she asked him to do. I told her what happened last night and she said it sound as if Alex and I were very well bonded and that it would be advisable for Alex and his father to do more things together. Dr. C went to get Alex a balloon and when she came out Alex hide behind the door. I told her that Alex was hiding behind the door and when she peeked Alex jumped out at her and she gave a bit of a yell. He sure scared her she actually jumped back. I thought what a way to have a first visit.
We went to Toy City after the doctors and got the rest of the Brent’s present. We came home and had our lunch. Actually we got home at eleven o’clock and Kurt came to ask Alex if he would come over and play in his sandbox. At first Alex wanted to go but then when he found that I wouldn’t be staying he didn’t want to go. I told him not to be so silly that I would go over with him but I would only stay for a little while. I went over with Alex and talked to Nora to make sure it was okay then I told Alex I would be back to get him for lunch. I was able to do a lot of tidying up while Alex was gone, it made it so much easier. At twelve thirty I got Alex for lunch and told them they could play later. Alex said he had a lot of fun in the sandbox.
After lunch we went to the library to return the books which were overdue, then we went to Save-On-Foods to return the movies and I bought Charlie a card since today is our Anniversary. Do you believe it, it’s nine years already! When we came home Alex watched TV while I cleaned out the fridge. The fridge isn’t very cold, it looks like there is something wrong with it. After I finished cleaning the fridge I cleaned the counter tops.
Charlie came home and I told him about the fridge, he phoned the repair centre and they said they would send someone out tomorrow.
Shirley arrived around five thirty to look after Alex while we went out for dinner. Alex wasn’t too pleased about it but he didn’t make a big fuss. While I was ironing my skirt he said he hoped that it got all wrinkled.
We left at six thirty and before we left I gave Alex his medicine. We went to Jonathon’s we were early so we sat in the lounge, the hostess sure was a snob. She really looked down on people. She seated us at a table that wasn’t near the window and it was in a very tight spot. Charlie asked if we couldn’t sit at the window and she told him he would have to wait at least twenty minutes. We went back to the lounge, we finally got a table near the window at eight o’clock. We had a really nice dinner, the restaurant overlooks the old EXPO site.
We hot home after ten o’clock, Shirley had put Alex to bed. I was rather surprised as he had a nap today. When he heard our voices he got out of bed. Shirley went home, Alex and I watched TV. Alex wouldn’t go to bed until I did, which was around midnight.

I woke up before eight o’clock, gave Alex his breakfast, got dressed and vacuumed the house. After I had finished I had a shower and got dressed. I phoned Allison to make sure we were still getting together and she said to come over any time. I wasn’t quite ready yet as my shorts were not dry yet. I put them in the sun to dry then I did my hair and got Alex ready to go.
We left at twelve thirty, Kurt’s friend Meagan was there and Alex was really silly in front of her. It seemed like he was trying to show off. Meagan said to me Alex sure is silly. She’s probably never seen anyone quite like Alex! We had our lunch as soon as we got in, Alex wouldn’t settle down which made it harder on the other two to eat properly. I kept on telling Alex to settle down or we would be going home but it didn’t seem to do much good. After lunch the kids went outside to play in the sandbox and Alex threw sand at Meagan which started Kurt to do the same thing. They just wouldn’t stop so Allison had to close the sandbox. They then went into the pool and Alex chase both of them especially Meagan with the water. This is getting to be a bit much! We left their house after four o’clock and Charlie was already home.
Shirley had phoned while we were out and said she would be over between five and five thirty. Marla also called and said to phone when I had a free minute. I phoned her back she said she probably couldn’t make it on Friday as she had to register herself for school. We decided to make it for Tuesday.
I got ready to go out for dinner with Shirley. I made the mistake of asking Charlie if I could use his car since it was so hot. I thought Alex realized that I was going out with Shirley and that I was leaving him at home. Alex had heard the recording of Shirley’s message that we were going out but when I asked Charlie about the car, Alex had an absolute fit. He ran after me as I went down the hall and said don’t leave me, don’t leave me. Then he started to cry, he must of cried for about half an hour before he calmed down. He didn’t even want to talk to Charlie. It was as if he was mad at Charlie that he had to stay with him. He was still crying when Shirley came in, I hadn’t even been able to get dressed yet. Alex held on to my neck so tight that I could hardly breathe. Alex came into our room while I got dressed and I sat with him on our bed and told him that there was no need for him to act that way. He was going to be with his Papa and they would have a good time while I was out. I told him that Pa was going to take him somewhere and probably buy him something if he was going to be good. After that Alex realized I was going out and he seemed to accept the fact.
We left around six o’clock, I figured P.J.’s would be nice and cool but they don’t have air conditioning! We didn’t stay there very long, I couldn’t stand the heat. We went to the theatre to see Short Circuit 2. Shirley said since we were her for the early show why didn’t we see a late show as well. So we saw Coming to America. They were both really good movies but I liked Coming to America a lot better.
We got home at eleven thirty, Charlie was fast asleep on the couch. He had left me a note that he hadn’t given Alex his medicine as he didn’t know what to give him. That really irritated me, he just doesn’t want to know is all it is. I have to do it all the time and I don’t get any relief. Shirley had to make a phone call so while she was doing that I woke Charlie up to tell him we were home. He got mad at me and said he had no idea what to give him. I then told him Shirley was in the kitchen, he said where? I told him on the phone, he seemed rather embarrassed that he had raised his voice! Charlie went to bed, Shirley left shortly afterwards. She said Aaron would be over on Friday with Chris’ cake, I told her that was fine.
I watched TV for a little while then I went to bed.

Alex woke me up this morning at 7:45 a.m., he said he was really hungry and wanted his breakfast. I got up and got him his breakfast. I figured since I was up so early I might as well do some cleaning. I cleaned all the furniture in the house and I washed all the floors. Alex fell asleep at 8:45 a.m. and didn’t wake up until eleven o’clock. He sure was mad when he woke up. He said why did you turn off the TV? I told him that his shows were over so I turned it off. Alex said he wanted to watch the end of Teddy Ruxbin and he wanted me to put it on right now! I told him that I had taped a different one and he could watch that if he wanted to, but Alex said he didn’t want that one. I left him to decide what he wanted to do. After about ten minutes Alex had calmed down and he decided to watch the one that was taped.
I had a shower and got dressed. We had our lunch around noon then we went to the mall. We looked for Brent’s present but it’s really hard to find war stuff. All we could find were tanks and they were very poor quality so I didn’t buy them. It sure was nice and cool in the mall, I can’t believe how hot it has been this last while. It’s been around 30C during the day.
We got home after three o’clock, Alex watched TV while I relaxed. Alex and I ate earlier as Charlie wanted something else. After dinner Alex asked me to set up his pool with the slide in the pool. Alex wanted me to have a water fight with him but I told him that I was too tired and hot to be running around having a water fight. Alex started to cry and he said he wanted to have a water fight with me. Rayon came into her backyard to see what was going on. I told Alex I would have a water fight with him but I wasn’t running all over the yard. Alex said that was okay. He had already gotten me soaking wet when he was mad, he had kicked me when he wan in the water. That sure was shock to get cold water on me when I was so hot. After we had out water fight we both came into the house and got changed.
We went to London Drugs around eight o’clock, Charlie stayed home. I wasn’t planning taking Alex with me but he wanted to come and I figured he probably wouldn’t be able to sleep it being so hot. We were able to find Brent a tank of better quality and we also bought him a Ghostbusters book. We’ll have to go to Toy City and buy him something else. We got home around eight thirty, we watched tv, then I got Alex ready for bed. I watched tv and went to bed at midnight.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; July 18, 1988
I woke up at eight o’clock, I went to see if Alex was awake yet but he was still sleeping. I figure I had better tape Dinosaucers after what had happened on Friday. Then I got dressed and cleaned the bathrooms, before I had finished Alex woke up and asked me to make his breakfast. After I finished I had a shower and got dressed. We went outside and I washed my car while Alex rode his bike. Alex helped me to dry the car after I had washed it which was a big help.
We had lunch then Alex went outside to play in his sandbox. He played in it for about an hour or so then he wanted me to fill up his pool. Alex asked me to put his slide in the pool, he sure had a lot of fun going down the slide in the pool. I sat outside with him and wrote in the journal. I must be more than a week behind in my writing. That’s why I started typing I figure it might be a lot faster.
We came in around three o’clock, it sure is hot today. Alex watched TV while I did some typing in the journal. I went to check on Alex and he had fallen asleep, he must of tired himself right out.
Charlie got home at four o’clock and went outside to cut the grass. At five o’clock I started to cooked dinner, we ate at six o’clock. Alex heard the ice cream truck after dinner and asked Charlie if he could have one. They went to get some, Alex couldn’t find his thongs and almost had a fit because he thought he was going to miss the truck,
We took Kelly for a walk after seven o’clock and then Alex wanted to go in his sandbox. After Alex had finished playing in his sandbox we all watched TV.
I got Alex ready for bed at nine o’clock but he didn’t get to sleep until after eleven o’clock. I went to bed after eleven o’clock.

I woke up after ten o’clock, Alex was still asleep so I went and had a shower and got dressed. I did the dishes and the laundry before Alex woke up, he woke up at eleven thirty.
Alex had his breakfast and watched TV while I did some things around the house. I told Alex he had to have a shower or a bath before we could go out. Alex didn’t like that at all, he decided to have a bath. After I got him dried and dressed we went to Wendy’s for lunch. Alex had seen on TV that they had Bambi figures but it must be only in the States. Then we went to Toy City to look for a present for Brent but we couldn’t find what he wants. We ended up buying a small game for Alex.
We got home around two o’clock and Alex played with the game while I did some more typing. Charlie came home from working overtime at four o’clock. We got ready to go to Mom and Dad’s for dinner, we left at four thirty.
Alex fell asleep in the car, he woke up when we got there and was in a really good mood. We stayed until nine o’clock and came home.
Alex wanted chips and dip when we got home, and we all watched TV. Alex and I went to bed after eleven o’clock.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; July 16, 1988
I woke up at eight o’clock, my face was hurting again and I didn’t want it to be bothering me so I took a pain killer. Charlie was making Alex his breakfast, I had my breakfast as well. Alex watched TV while I had a shower and got dressed. I ironed my clothes to wear to Lanie and Paxton’s party. I did Alex’s laundry and tided up the house. Meanwhile I told Alex to go for a nap as he seemed to be so irritable and it was only nine o’clock. I was afraid that if he didn’t have a nap that he would really be cranky at the party. Alex fell asleep at ten o’clock and slept until eleven o’clock. He watched Ghosbusters for half an hour then I told him to have a bath and get ready for the party. Charlie had gone to Save-On-Foods and come back, he put away the groceries while I got Alex ready.
We got to the party just when everyone was arriving. They had it at Hyde Creek Rec Centre. They brought all the food and they rented a clown to come to the party after we had finished having lunch. After the clown left they had a sack race. Before the clown hand come James had hidden candies on the grass and the kids went looking for them. Then we came inside and the kids opened their presents. Lanie seemed to zoom through her presents but Paxton took quite awhile. He liked to play with everything as it was opened!
After that everyone helped to tidy the place up, I felt like I was in the way so I took the kids outside. I walked up and down with Paxton to keep him amused and so he wouldn’t want Marla.
We got home at three o’clock, Charlie tried to get Alex to go for a nap but he said he didn’t want to. I had a bath and got ready to go to Robert’s party. It’s too bad they had to have it today!
We left at five thirty, Alex fell asleep on the way there that’s two naps for today. It should be interesting to see what time he goes to bed tonight.
We got there after six o’clock, they started to cook the food at seven o’clock. Robert had one other child beside Alex to the party. He sure hasn’t changed much still very possessive over his toys. I would of thought by now they would have realized how much of a brat he’s turning into. It’s probably not nice for me to say this but he’s getting really bad. Alex didn’t want to go to the party first of all as he thought Robert would be mean to him. Now a days Alex won’t go to the Chew’s as he doesn’t like Robert.
We stayed until nine thirty, they were still cooking the food. Alex was pretty wide awake when we got home, he didn’t go to bed until I did which was after eleven o’clock.

I woke up at nine o’clock. Alex came into my room just as I was getting out of bed. He said is Dinosaucers on? I told him that it was over as he had slept in. Alex was so mad that he had missed his show, he asked why I hadn’t taped his show or woken him up? I told him that I was awake when it was on, but I didn’t realize it was on. Meanwhile Mom phoned, I was trying to have a conversation with Mom and Alex was still complaining about missing his show. After I got off the phone I told Alex that we could make Dinosaur cookies this morning. That made Alex feel better, if I hadn’t had something for us to do Alex would have been miserable.
So I got dressed and made Alex his breakfast then I started to do the dough for the sugar cookies. Alex thought that once the dough was made we could start to roll the dough to make the Dinosaur cookies. I told him that the dough had to go into the fridge for about an hour. Alex was annoyed about that, but I told him that Sesame Street was on now and that when it was over it would be time to do the cookies.
While Alex was watching TV, I made Spritz cookies, I wanted to give Allison and Davis some cookies for getting us the sand. After I had finished baking the cookies it was time for us to do the Dinosaur cookies. Alex rolled his own dough with his rolling pin, we had quite the mess when we had finished!
When the Spritz cookies had cooled down, I dipped them in melted chocolate. After I had finished the cookies I cleaned up the kitchen and by that time it one o’clock. I got changed into shorts and phoned Allison to see if it was okay to drop by. She said there were a whole bunch of kids there but they should be leaving soon, so she would phone me back.
I was able to relax for a little while before Allison phoned back. We went over there after two o’clock and Allison asked us to come in for awhile. Not long afterwards Kurt Andrews came to the door to ask if he could come in but Allison said no. I think she had enough for one day.
Alex played in the sandbox with Kurt and Erin for an hour or so before we went home. Alex put his foot in the swimming pool and he still had his socks and running shoes on. I asked him why he did that and he said he didn’t know there was water in the pool!
We came at three thirty, Alex went to watch his shows on tv and I typed in the journal.
We went to Sek Kee for dinner, afterward we went to the mall to buy Robert his birthday present and then we went to Marla’s to get Charlie’s passport.
We got home around nine o’clock and I got Alex ready for bed. I finished typing in the journal after I got Alex to bed, I went to bed at eleven o’clock.

Alex woke me up at eight o’clock this morning, he wanted his breakfast. While he was having breakfast he watched TV, he likes to watch Dinosaucers and Teddy Ruxpin. They come on at eight and eight thirty.
After breakfast I had a shower and got dressed. I dried my clothes outside that I’m going to wear to Marla’s today. They’re still a bit damp even though they have been drying for a day. Then I changed Alex’s sheets, I put his laundry on and tided up the house. Alex actually helped me to clean up his room. I did the dishes and ironed my clothes then we left to go to Marla’s.
The kids played for about an hour before lunch. Alex had said before we went over that we always have the same thing to eat and why did we do that? I told him that both Lanie and Alex were asked as to what they wanted to eat. It is up to both of you what you want. So when Marla asked them they asked for the usual! I told Marla about this conversation and she asked them if they didn’t want something different by they said they wanted Alligator soup and egg sandwiches.
We had quite the time getting them to eat their lunch in peace and quiet. First of all Alex wanted the Care Bear placemat, and Lanie didn’t want to give it up. I told Alex that he probably wouldn’t want to give up his Dinosaur placemat now would he? Alex said he wouldn’t but he still wanted the Care Bear placemat. Meanwhile Marla was trying to get Lanie to give up the placemat to Alex. Finally Alex decided to have the Train placemat.
They still fooled around. The rest of the afternoon wasn’t much better, they fought off and on throughout. Marla sent Lanie to her room a couple of times.
We left at four o’clock, and when we got back Allison had left us a message. She said that Davis was wondering if we needed the load of sand tonight. I phoned back and told her that Charlie wasn’t home yet but it would be okay. Allison said she would phone Davis back and if she didn’t phone back I would know that Davis had already left and he would get it tomorrow. A little while later Charlie phoned to say he would be working late. I told him about the sand and he said it would be better if it was to come tomorrow, since he had to start early tomorrow morning. I phoned Allison back to tell her it was okay for tomorrow. She said she was able to get a hold of Davis and he was on his way to get the sand if they were still open. She said they closed at five o’clock.
Alex and I went outside, Alex rode his bike while I watered the flowers. Davis came at five thirty with the sand. I figured I should start shovelling the sand in case Charlie had to work too late. I had to move the sandbox as it was still on the patio. I tried lifting it but it was too heavy so I ended up rolling it over which was pretty easy. Then when I went shovel the sand a whole swarm of kids came to help which only made matters worse. I probably wasn’t very nice to them but I was getting a little bit ticked off. Charlie came home at six o’clock, so I only had to do four wheel barrels which was enough for me.
I had promised Alex I would take him to McDonald’s so we had to wait for Charlie to finish shovelling then he cleaned out Davis’s truck.
By the time we paid Davis for the sand and got ready to go it was past seven thirty. I was so hungry I was getting the shakes. After we ate at McDonald’s Alex played in the playroom. Then we went to Marla’s so Charlie could give James the receipt for his passport. James had said he would pick it up for Charlie which I thought was really nice of him. He told Charlie he would be getting it on his lunch hour. Charlie told James he would pick it up tomorrow as he’s anxious to see his passport.
We came home and I got Alex ready for bed then I had a bath. Nothing like having a bath when you have achy muscles. After my bath I typed in the journal, a new approach which seems to be quite a lot faster than writing and I’m so far behind. It’s ten thirty now so I had better go to bed.

I woke up at eight o’clock. Alex and I had breakfast, a shower and got dressed. I made our beds and tided up the house. Then I made lunch, Allison and the kids are coming over.
They arrived after twelve o’clock. Alex sure acted silly, he ran up the stairs and was yelling something. Kurt and Alex were really hungry so we had lunch right away.
After lunch Alex and Kurt played in the spare room. I don’t know what Alex’s problem is, he wants his friends to come over but when they come he won’t share his toys. Sometimes if his friend has something he wants he’ll say he had it first. I don’t know who had it first.
They left at three o’clock, both Kurt and Pearl seemed quite tired. Alex was also tired I think it was too much for Alex having his friends over two days in a row.
Alex watched TV while I cleaned up the kitchen.
Charlie came home around five o’clock. He said he had gone to the passport office and they told him it would be ready on Friday. On the passport the person applying has to have a professional sign it and acknowledge they know the person applying. It had to be a doctor, lawyer, dentist, vet, accountant or engineer. We didn’t know anyone with a degree. Charlie was able to get someone at work to sign.
We had dinner at five o’clock. After dinner we watched TV. Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I watched TV and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up before nine o’clock. Alex and I had our breakfast, had a shower and got dressed.
Alex watched TV while I did the dishes, put away his toys and tided up the house.
Marla and the kids came over for lunch. I asked Marla how long it took to get a passport and explained that Charlie was going home. She said she might as well phone James to check. After she got off the phone she said that James would pick it up and he said he would take the application in for Charlie if he wants. I thought that was really nice of James to do that. Marla said the office is quite close to where James works. Marla said it should take three working days to get the passport.
Alex wasn’t too nice to Lanie. He didn’t want to share his toys. Especially any cars with Paxton. They left at three o’clock. Alex watched TV after they left. I did the dishes and tided up the kitchen.
Charlie came home at four o’clock. I told him that James was going to pick up the application today. Charlie asked me to phone Marla to make sure he had picked it up. Marla said she would phone me back. I told her Charlie wanted to come over tonight to pick it up. Marla phoned back half an hour later and said that James had.
Charlie had a shower and got dressed. We left at five o’clock to get Charlie’s passport picture done. Then we went to Burger King for dinner. Afterwards we went to Save-On-Foods for a few things.
We got to Marla’s just after seven. She was on her way out for a walk with her dog. Marla asked us to come into the house for tea.
Alex had fun playing with Lanie running all over the house. We had to tell him to calm down. Alex was really showing off in front of James. At one point James said Alex was making him dizzy with all his running and twirling around.
We left after eight o’clock and came home. Alex went to bed at nine o’clock. I watched TV and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at nine o’clock. Charlie had gone to work today. So Alex and I went to McDonald’s for breakfast, after McDonald’s Alex wanted to go to the mall.
We came home around one o’clock. Mom had phoned and asked us for dinner.
I had told Alex he could have a prize for sleeping in his own bed. We hadn’t been able to find anything at Coquitlam Centre. So after Alex had his nap I told him we could go.
Alex woke up at three o’clock and we went to the mall. Alex decided on marbles. They were big ones so I felt save he wouldn’t put them in his mouth.
It was a good thing Alex had a nap, he was irritable this morning.
When we got home Charlie was cutting the grass. I thought we would be home before him, but we got home fifteen minutes later. I told Charlie that Mom had invited us for dinner. Charlie said he was going to finish cutting the grass first.
I phoned Mom before five o’clock to let her know we were leaving. I felt badly that we left so late but there’s nothing I can do about it now.
When we got there I explained to Mom that we had been at the mall when Charlie got home and he didn’t realize we were coming here for dinner.
Alex was in a a really good mood. It was a nice change to have him playing nicely and not being irritable. I told Mom that Charlie’s’ father had phoned on Wednesday morning at seven o’clock. He asked where Charlie was, I told him he was at work. He said that they want Charlie to come home. I told him I would tell Charlie to phone him. Then he says who are you?! I said it’s Nancy, and he says Who? I said Nancy. Then he said okay and hung up.
Charlie had phoned home that night and Charlie’s father said that his mother was going into the hospital three times a week to have her kidneys washed. His father said if he could come home it would be good. Charlie said to me that he should go home but that he would go at the end of August.
I told Mom this and that I would rather Charlie went sooner since he has holidays at the end of July. I felt that his mother is quite ill that it would be better to see her as soon as possible. Mom felt that it would be better as well.
Charlie’s mother is calling for him every day, I think it would be a lot easier if he went sooner.
We left at nine o’clock. Alex went to bed at ten o’clock.
Charlie and I had talked on the way home about what Mom and I talked about. Charlie said he would phone the travel agent tomorrow to see if he could get a ticket for the 25th.
I watched TV and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

Charlie went to the bank at ten o’clock.
Blair wanted us to be at Holly’s game, so she had told Mom. We left after one o’clock, the game was in Richmond. When we got there Paul thanked us for coming but Blair totally ignored us. Charlie said if Paul hadn’t said anything he would have been really annoyed. If I had known she was going to be so weird I don’t know if I would have gone.
Yvonne was there and she said hello to us which really shocked me as the last time she saw us she didn’t say anything. The Kamloops team looked really tired, they lost the game. It must have been really upsetting considering they had come all the way down.
After the game we took Alex to the water park at Stanley Park. Alex really enjoyed it, he wanted me to follow him around the area. Then we went to a Won Ton House for dinner.

Alex woke me up at seven thirty, he said he was hungry. I gave him his breakfast then I had a shower.
We left at ten o’clock for Marla’s. I asked her to look after Alex while I went to the dentist.
Alex seemed fine when I left he didn’t complain at all. The dentist took me right away when I got there. I have to have four cavities redone. The dentist gave me a needle on the top and bottom on the right side. They waited awhile for the freezing to take affect then the dentist started drilling the bottom but it wasn’t frozen. Dr. E put another needle on the bottom then they waited again. The dentists started drilling again but I still could fee it. Dr. E said he would do the top first. The dentist did the top and it was okay. After he had taken the old fillings out he asked the nurse to put the dam in. I asked her if I could use the washroom first, the tea was coming through!
When I came back I could hardly swallow I must of swallowed some freezing. The dentist put in the new fillings. He tried drilling again on the bottom but it wasn’t frozen. Dr. E gave me another needle. It was finally frozen with the rest of my face! When the dentist drilled near the bottom I could feet it.
It was really hard sitting through it, I felt like my tongue was falling back and I was going to choke.
I left at one fifteen, I went home first and took two painkillers. I had a hard time to swallow the pills, they seemed to get stuck in my throat. I kept on swallowing then they went down. I went to get Alex at two o’clock. Marla invited me in for tea. I could barely talk, I must of looked really funny. It seemed like the whole right side of my face was frozen, even my tongue was frozen.
It was funny when I talked, Lanie just stared at me!
We stayed until just before four o’clock, Alex didn’t want to leave but that was too bad. I could barely talk and I felt terrible.
When we got home, Charlie was already home. I told him I had to have four needles. Charlie said that’s nothing. Thanks for the sympathy Charlie!
I sure was hungry, I hadn’t had lunch. I had a bun at five o’clock but my throat was still frozen.
The freezing finally went away at six o’clock.
We had dinner around six o’clock.
After dinner I phoned Mom to wish her a Happy Birthday. She said they didn’t go out. She would rather stay home.

I woke up at eight o’clock and woke Alex up to have a shower. We have to be at the hospital at nine thirty, so we have to hurry this morning.
I got Alex dressed and gave him some juice, he said he didn’t want breakfast. I got dressed and we left for the hospital at nine o’clock.
We were late but nobody seemed to care. The hospital was pretty full so we sat near the LP room. We waited fifteen minutes before Mary called us to get Alex’s blood. Alex complained that it was going to hurt. Mary told him that he’s always so brave and that it doesn’t hurt. She asked him if he had forgotten. Alex said he had.
We went to the waiting room and Alex played with the toys.
Dr. S called us into an examining room. She said she didn’t have Alex’s blood count yet.
I told the doctor that Alex had thrown up once when he was coughing. She didn’t have anything to say about it.
I asked Dr. S if we could have our next appointment delayed as we wanted to go away. She said it should be alright but she wanted to see Alex’s blood count before doing it and the prescription.
I asked the doctor if I could give Alex his prednisone twice a day instead of three times a day. Dr. S said they usually do that only when a child is having trouble taking his medicine.
I also asked her when Alex could go back swimming. She said it wouldn’t be advisable for Alex to go swimming until his treatment was finished. Dr. S said if Alex was to go swimming and got an infection he would have to have his treatment stopped.
Dr. S said Alex would be able to go to a water park or the beach. When he was at the beach he shouldn’t put his head in the water.
I told Dr. S that Alex said his nose was really itchy. She said he might have an allergy.
Dr. S said that they would be getting ready for Alex’s LP.
Sheila came into the clinic while we were waiting. The kids sure love her, she really makes them feel good.
I asked Sheila about the study in the United States about children living near power lines that were prone to cancer. Sheila said she knew of it but it was in the early stages. I told her after we had moved we realized we were across the street from power lines. Then after four months Alex got cancer. Sheila said it might or might not of had anything to do with Alex getting cancer.
We went into the pain room for Alex’s LP. Alex had his LP sitting up, he did very well, he sure is brave. Alex only cried when the doctor put the needle in for the freezing. The nurse read a pop-up-book during the procedure.
After it was over I took Alex out to the waiting area and put him on a bed. I had a difficult time to get him to lie down. I had given him Winston (a Ghostbusters guy) and he didn’t want to lie down. I had to keep telling Alex to lie down on the bed!
I told Alex I was going to get his prescription. Alex cried and told me not to leave him. He sure was upset that I was leaving him there. I talked to him for quite awhile before I went I wanted to make sure he wanted me to go to the Pharmacy. Alex said it was alright as long as I went very fast. I told him I would go to the Pharmacy and come right back.
I bought Alex a Dinosaur placemat at the small store, while I waited for the prescription to be ready.
When I came back Alex wasn’t in his bed. I asked Lorraine where Alex was and she said Gee, I don’t know. Then one of the other mother’s said she saw the nurses take Alex into the room for his I.V. I couldn’t believe Lorraine, she then said I’m glad we didn’t have to get alarmed. Give me a break!
I went in to see Alex and Lenore was giving Alex his I.V., another nurse was holding Alex. They both said I ruined their surprise, they were going to give Alex his I.V. without me. It took them three tries before they got the I.V. in Lenore had to put it in Alex’s foot, Alex didn’t like that at all.
Alex cried when Lenore put the I.v. in for the second and third time.
Alex got a prize from the treasure box when it was all over.
Dr. S gave us our appointment for five weeks which is really good.
We left after one o’clock, we stopped at McDonald’s for lunch. After lunch Alex wanted to go to the mall. We didn’t stay long as Alex seemed quite tired.
We got home around three o’clock, Alex watched TV. when we got home.
Charlie got home at four o’clock. He made diner for us which was really nice.
After dinner we watched TV. Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I watched TV. and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight o’clock, I made breakfast for Alex and myself. After breakfast I had a lot of things to do, I invited Mom and Dad over for dinner.
I vacuumed the house washed the bathmats, changed Alex’s sheets, did Alex’s laundry, set the table with Alex’s help and started to prepared the food.
Mom and Dad came at one o’clock and brought another load. They left Geordie with us while they went shopping.
I finished preparing the food then I went to the mall to get Alex a hospital prize. I saw them at the cashier at Woolco but they didn’t see me. By the time I got to the cashier with the toy, they were gone. I stopped at Pharmasave on the way back for batteries. Mom and Dad still weren’t back yet. When they got back they said they had gone to the house.
We ate dinner at six o’clock. Alex complained that he didn’t like the cauliflower, and he wasn’t going to eat it. I told him he wouldn’t get any birthday cake then. Alex had a few bites which was okay with me. I just want him to try it.
When we had the cake Alex sat beside Mom and helped blow out the candles. I had made a birthday cake and iced it with the decorating kit.
Alex gave Mom her present. She seemed quite pleased with the beach towel we had given her. They stayed until eight o’clock.
We cleaned up the house and did the dishes. Charlie was a great helping doing the dishes.
Alex played while we were working. I got him ready for bed at nine o’clock. I watched TV and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at nine o’clock. I figured both Alex and Mitch would be up, so I would make pancakes for breakfast.
Alex and Charlie had just gotten up but Mitch was still asleep. I told Alex to let him sleep. Alex told me he was surprised to see Mitch in bed he thought that he had already left. I told him Mitch would be going home today and that we would be taking him to the ferry.
After breakfast I phoned to let them know which ferry he would be on.
Mitch woke up around eleven, he said he had watched wrestling until early in the morning. No wonder he woke up so late.
I had made pancakes earlier and we had eaten them. I started to make Mitch his and promptly over cooked them. I hope Mitch didn’t mind.
Mitch and Alex played video games until it was time to go. I did the dishes and tided up the house.
We put Mitch on the three thirty ferry. I was sad to see him go. I’m very fond of him, he’s such a nice kid. I had noticed that he had changed a lot, in the fact that he seems a bit bitter. Mitch gave me the impression that he wished he hadn’t had to move. I had taken him to see Mom and Dad’s new house and he told me how lucky we were to be living so close.
From the ferry we went out for dinner and came home. Alex rode his bike outside for awhile. I tided up the house and got Alex ready for bed at eight o’clock. I watched TV and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight o’clock. I heard Alex talking to Mitch. I told Alex he shouldn’t have woken Mitch up but Alex said he didn’t. Mitch said Alex said Mitch, Mitch until he opened his eyes!
I took them to McDonald’s for breakfast. Alex had hot cakes and hash browns. He finished his hash browns first then started on his hot cakes. Alex hadn’t eaten very much when he decided that he wanted another hash brown. I told him he couldn’t have another one as last time he had gotten two and he didn’t eat both of them. Alex said he wasn’t leaving McDonalds until he got another hash brown. Mitch thought this was really funny.
Alex then flung his fork at me and put syrup on my shirt. I slapped Alex’s hand and told him not to do that. Alex said it didn’t hurt. I told him Auntie Joan use to grab Mitch on the shoulder and did he want me to try it. He said go ahead.
We finally finished breakfast, Alex didn’t get another hash brown. Alex and Mitch played on the slide. Then we went to Lougheed mall for an hour.
When we got home Mitch played video games and he also played with Alex on and off.
We ate dinner at five thirty. Charlie and Mitch left after six o’clock to see a wrestling match. Alex wanted to go too but when we told him he couldn’t go he started to cry. Charlie had told him he was taking Mitch to school and that they would be back later. After they left Alex said are they going to wrestling? I told him yes, I don’t believe in lying to him. I said are you upset about that and he said yes.
We played some puzzles before I got Alex ready for bed. I watched TV and got ready for bed. Before I went to bed, Charlie and Mitch came home. Mitch was really excited about the match. He said he lost his voice he yelled so much. He told me everything about the match.
We went to bed around midnight. Mitch asked if he could stay up and watch wrestling. I told him that was okay.

I woke up at nine o’clock. I made Alex his breakfast and had a shower and did the laundry.
Mom phoned to ask when we were going to pick Mitch up. I think she wants to see him since they don’t get a chance very often.
Joan had phoned when I was getting up, Charlie told her we would pick Mitch up at the three thirty ferry on our side.
We left at one o’clock, we wanted to make sure we didn’t get stuck in the ferry traffic.
We got there about forty five minutes. Alex and Charlie got French fries while I went into a store. Everything is pretty expensive there.
We went to the water park until the ferry came in. I sure was surprised at how much Mitch had changed. His hair is really long now but he said he’s going to get it cut short for football.
We went for a drive and then we went to Shanghai for dinner. Mitch said he didn’t want a fork he would use chopsticks. When he was eating the noodles he had a lot of trouble. Charlie asked the waiter for a fork.
After dinner we went to Mom and Dad’s. Mitch gave Mom her birthday present. It was funny because he told me that the plant was real and that he had told Joan that the store had forgotten to put in the dirt. I had said that is was probably not real but Mitch said he had seen it and it was real. When Mom opened that present it wasn’t real. Mitch said I was sure it was real.
We stayed there for an hour or so, Charlie has to go to work tomorrow.
Alex wasn’t tired when we got home, he had fallen asleep on the way home but was wide awake when we got home.
Mitch and Alex played with his cars. Charlie went to bed and I stayed up to watch TV. At midnight I got Alex ready for bed and went to bed as well.
