Alex woke me up at eight o’clock this morning, he wanted his breakfast. While he was having breakfast he watched TV, he likes to watch Dinosaucers and Teddy Ruxpin. They come on at eight and eight thirty.
After breakfast I had a shower and got dressed. I dried my clothes outside that I’m going to wear to Marla’s today. They’re still a bit damp even though they have been drying for a day. Then I changed Alex’s sheets, I put his laundry on and tided up the house. Alex actually helped me to clean up his room. I did the dishes and ironed my clothes then we left to go to Marla’s.
The kids played for about an hour before lunch. Alex had said before we went over that we always have the same thing to eat and why did we do that? I told him that both Lanie and Alex were asked as to what they wanted to eat. It is up to both of you what you want. So when Marla asked them they asked for the usual! I told Marla about this conversation and she asked them if they didn’t want something different by they said they wanted Alligator soup and egg sandwiches.
We had quite the time getting them to eat their lunch in peace and quiet. First of all Alex wanted the Care Bear placemat, and Lanie didn’t want to give it up. I told Alex that he probably wouldn’t want to give up his Dinosaur placemat now would he? Alex said he wouldn’t but he still wanted the Care Bear placemat. Meanwhile Marla was trying to get Lanie to give up the placemat to Alex. Finally Alex decided to have the Train placemat.
They still fooled around. The rest of the afternoon wasn’t much better, they fought off and on throughout. Marla sent Lanie to her room a couple of times.
We left at four o’clock, and when we got back Allison had left us a message. She said that Davis was wondering if we needed the load of sand tonight. I phoned back and told her that Charlie wasn’t home yet but it would be okay. Allison said she would phone Davis back and if she didn’t phone back I would know that Davis had already left and he would get it tomorrow. A little while later Charlie phoned to say he would be working late. I told him about the sand and he said it would be better if it was to come tomorrow, since he had to start early tomorrow morning. I phoned Allison back to tell her it was okay for tomorrow. She said she was able to get a hold of Davis and he was on his way to get the sand if they were still open. She said they closed at five o’clock.
Alex and I went outside, Alex rode his bike while I watered the flowers. Davis came at five thirty with the sand. I figured I should start shovelling the sand in case Charlie had to work too late. I had to move the sandbox as it was still on the patio. I tried lifting it but it was too heavy so I ended up rolling it over which was pretty easy. Then when I went shovel the sand a whole swarm of kids came to help which only made matters worse. I probably wasn’t very nice to them but I was getting a little bit ticked off. Charlie came home at six o’clock, so I only had to do four wheel barrels which was enough for me.
I had promised Alex I would take him to McDonald’s so we had to wait for Charlie to finish shovelling then he cleaned out Davis’s truck.
By the time we paid Davis for the sand and got ready to go it was past seven thirty. I was so hungry I was getting the shakes. After we ate at McDonald’s Alex played in the playroom. Then we went to Marla’s so Charlie could give James the receipt for his passport. James had said he would pick it up for Charlie which I thought was really nice of him. He told Charlie he would be getting it on his lunch hour. Charlie told James he would pick it up tomorrow as he’s anxious to see his passport.
We came home and I got Alex ready for bed then I had a bath. Nothing like having a bath when you have achy muscles. After my bath I typed in the journal, a new approach which seems to be quite a lot faster than writing and I’m so far behind. It’s ten thirty now so I had better go to bed.
