Diagnosis; Leukemia; May 30, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. I took my blood, had breakfast, gave Kelly his medicine and had a shower.

Alex was just getting up when I was having my shower. Alex waited until it was finished then he asked me to get him his breakfast. Charlie was up and watching tv but Alex will only ask him if I tell him to. After breakfast Alex had a shower and got dressed.

After lunch Patrick came over to play. At two o’clock I took my blood then we went out. We sent Patrick home, and picked Mom up. Dad has been driving himself to the hospital, the van isn’t license, so Mom has no car to drive. First we took Mom to the bank then we went to London Drugs. I bought more strips, I’m almost out of them. Then we went to the mall and Mom mailed her parcel. We went back to Mom and Dad’s. Mom said she had better be back before Dad got home or he would wonder where she was.

Dad came home shortly afterwards it seems to be helping him driving himself. He was lacking a lot of confidence, he never went anywhere alone.

Mom asked me to stay for dinner but they were having chicken wings in a sugar sauce so I couldn’t have it anyways. I told Mom not to worry about it that we would be going home.

When we got home I started to cook dinner, we ate around six o’clock.

After dinner we exercised downstairs, then we put away Alex’s toys and watched Cosby. Alex calls the show the “Cos”.

Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I watched tv and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 29, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. I had breakfast then I gave Kelly his medicine and had a shower. Alex woke up shortly after I had finished getting dressed. I gave him his breakfast and got him to have a shower.

The rest of the morning. I did the dishes, made the beds and put away the toys with Alex’s help. We left at twelve forty five for the hospital. The clinic was just jammed today, I told them we were here and went out to the hall to sit down. There was no way I was going to stand up for very long. We were out in the hall for awhile when Alex said he wanted to go inside to play. Charlie said he would go in with him. I said outside in the hall and read. Dr. K came and said he wanted to examine Alex. I said okay and then he said are you alone? I said no Alex is in the clinic with his father. Then he asked me if Alex had his blood work and I told him not yet. Another parent walked by and said we haven’t either. Dr. K said he would examine them both but first he would see Alex.

I took Alex into the examining room. Dr. K asked how Alex was and I said he seemed to be okay. I asked him about Alex’s rash around his belly button. Which has been there for three months. Dr. K said it was nothing probably an irritation. We could apply Destin which has 1% cortisone in it. He took Alex’s blood pressure which was 110/70.

Finally Alex has his blood test, Mary wasn’t there today. Alex had his blood taken from his finger again and the nurse had to poke him twice before it would come out.

When Alex came back, he said you know what the nurse told me? I said what? He said she told me that most kids like the blood test from this finger (the index finger). Alex said isn’t that funny!

So now we had to wait for the blood test results, before anything else was done.

At three o’clock the results finally came. Dr. K said that the blood count was up and asked me if any changes were made recently. I said a few months ago the medication was decreased. He checked Alex’s chart, he said Mercaptopurine is 1 pill daily. I said no it’s ¾ alternating with 1 pill. Then he said oh, yes here it is. Dr. K said that they like to keep there counts between one and two, so he was increasing Alex’s medication to 1 pill daily for Mercaptopurine and everything else was to stay the same; Methotrexiate 4 ½ pills, Prednisone 6 pills daily for 5 days and Bactrim ¼ twice daily three times a week.

Then Dr. K asked when Alex should have his next LP. I told him next time Alex should have it. Dr. K checked but it wasn’t written down. He said it must have been in March. So the doctor put it on for the next appointment.

I went to the pharmacy while Alex and Charlie stayed in the clinic. The pharmacist said it would be half an hour.

It wasn’t too long before Alex was able to have his chemotherapy. Then we picked up the prescription and went to the Won Ton House on Hastings Street. Alex had picked out a prize from the gift shop at the hospital, micro machines.

We came home to let Kelly out then we went to visit Mom and Dad. Alex was in a really good mood, that’s surprising since he had chemo today. Alex was laughing and telling jokes. He ran around Dad’s chair until Dad grabbed him, Alex thought that was pretty funny.

We got home around nine o’clock. It took me awhile to get Alex into bed. He wanted a snack before he went to bed.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 28, 1989

I woke up at nine thirty, it was good to sleep in for a change. Alex was just getting up as well. We had breakfast and I was hoping to have a shower but Alex said he had to have one first. So I waited while he was having his shower and while the water came back. Alex tends to take a lot of hot water.

While I was drying my hair after my shower, Alex said the phone was for me. It was Shirley she wanted me to meet her for lunch at PJ’s. We decided to make it for 12:30 p.m.

When I got off the phone Alex asked me what Auntie Shirley wanted. I told him I was meeting her for lunch. Alex said he wanted to go. I said he couldn’t that I was going by myself. Alex said who am I going to stay with? I told him he was staying with Pa. Alex said that’s no fun, he doesn’t play with me. I told him you have to ask Pa to do things with you.

I left after twelve o’clock. Shirley was already sitting down. We had a nice lunch. It was hard to find something on the menu to fit into my diet plan. I find it a lot easier to go out to dinner than lunch. I got home around two thirty. Charlie and Alex had gone out, they left a note that they might be going to Stanley Park. I got changed and exercised. Just after I had finished the phone rang. I just got it in time, it was Charlie and Alex. Alex said they went to the children’s’ zoo and rode on the train. Charlie said they would be home soon but they were going to pick something up for dinner.

Charlie and Alex got home after four o’clock. Alex said he had a really nice time, that it was a lot of fun.

We ate dinner at five o’clock. After dinner Alex and I went downstairs to exercise. Then we watched tv. I had rented a couple movies earlier, Alex watched his first.

Alex went to bed at nine o’clock. Charlie and I watched our movie and I wrote in the journal. We went to bed at eleven thirty.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 27, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. I had breakfast then I gave Kelly his pill and had a shower.

I took Kelly to the vet, we had to wait about half an hour before we went into the examining room. Dr. R came in and said how are you Tanya. I said this is Kelly and were suppose to see Dr. C he went out and said he would straighten it out. Dr. C finally came in and said she could increase Kelly’s medication or run a few test to make sure nothing else was wrong. Dr. C said the tests were all okay, she showed them to me. She said the only other thing it could be is a brain tumour but the only way to check that is to do a brain scan. Dr. C said they do them at UBC Hospital but it’s very expensive. On the other hand he could have epilepsy anyways. I asked if I could increase the valium to one pill. She said yes, start with one pill twice a day and you can go to three times a day. No more than that. Dr. C said Kelly would have to go to another medicine. She mentioned another medication but I can’t remember the name. She said it would make him sleep for the first few days but after a week he would be okay.

When we came out of the examining room there were at least five dogs in the waiting room, mostly big dogs. We had to wait awhile before we got the bill. A lot of people asked me about Kelly, they all thought he was a girl!

We got home before noon. Charlie left to go grocery shopping. I did the dishes and tided up the house.

Mom phoned in the afternoon and invited us for dinner. She asked about Kelly and I told her what had happened. She was really mad, she said they should x-ray his head. I said that’s what happens when an animal has epilepsy they don’t have the equipment to do the test they do with people.

I put away Alex’s toys and tided up the house before we went to Mom and Dad’s.

After dinner we play Trivial Pursuit. We got home around ten thirty.

Alex had a snack and I had my snack. Then Alex got ready for bed. I read him a story and by the time he got into bed it was after eleven o’clock. Alex had a nap at Mom and Dad’s. He must have been really tired.

I went to bed at eleven thirty.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 26, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. I sure was tired. Alex had woken us up at five thirty. He said he couldn’t sleep anymore. I asked him if he wanted to watch tv. Alex said he didn’t know if there was anything on tv for him. I went to the living room with Alex and marked down all the shows for him to watch and got him his blanket. I went back to bed and woke up at eight thirty.

I had breakfast, gave Kelly his medicine and had a shower.

Alex said he was tired. I told him of course he was tired he didn’t get enough sleep and he needed to have a nap. Alex didn’t like that idea. I told him it would be better in the morning than the afternoon, because his friend might come over. Alex thought about it for awhile and decided to have a nap in the morning but he had to have a shower first. Alex had his nap at ten thirty.

I wasn’t feeling that good and I couldn’t exercise since I figured it would probably wake up Alex. I did the dishes and made the beds.

After lunch I wrote in the journal and Alex played. I put away Alex’s toys while he was watching tv, I hadn’t finished when Kelly had another seizure. The seizures seem to be getting worse, this time he moved his legs a lot like he was running. When Kelly was able to get up. I took him downstairs and gave Kelly a pill. Then I phoned the vet. Dr. H wasn’t there so I talked to Dr. C. She thought it would be better to do some tests first to make sure Kelly was okay before changing his medication. I made an appointment for tomorrow morning.

Alex and I left to go to the bank and McDonald’s. I had phoned Mom earlier to ask her if they wanted anything. Mom said just fries since they had already taken steak out. When we came out the car wouldn’t start. I was really mad after all the repairs that had been done. We went back inside and ate our food. We went back to the car to try again before I phoned BCAA and it finally started. I had to give it a lot of gas before it would start.

We went to Mom and Dad’s they must have wondered what took us so long. I explained that the car wouldn’t start but finally did start.

Alex and Dad played video games, much to Mom’s disgust. She doesn’t like video games at all.

We went home around nine o’clock. Alex had a snack and went to bed. I had my snack and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at eight thirty. I did my blood test, had breakfast, gave Kelly his medicine then I had a shower.

Alex was still asleep, he woke up at nine thirty. I made Alex his breakfast then I did the dishes and swept the kitchen floor.

I wrote in the journal until lunch time. I took Alex to his class and came home. I did my blood test and then It was time to get Alex.

At least my car is running a lot better now. It should after all the money we put into it. Charlie had a used alternator put in last Saturday. Then on Tuesday he took it for a tune up. The mechanic phoned to tell Charlie that the water pump was leaking and the distributor plate had to be replaced Charlie told him to go ahead with the tune up and fix the hand brake. The mechanic told him the car wouldn’t run properly if the distributor plate wasn’t repaired. Charlie said okay fix the distributor plate but leave the pump. The pump would cost $200.

When Alex and I came home he phoned Kurt and Patrick but both weren’t home. Charlie had told him Kurt had phoned but he was in school. So it thought it was Patrick but he was playing with someone else.

I wrote in the journal this afternoon while Alex watched cartoons on tv.

Kurt phoned at four thirty to ask Alex to play. Alex asked him to come over to his house but Kurt wanted Alex to come to his house. They argued about it for awhile then Alex told him to come to his house or he didn’t want to play. Kurt said okay bye. Alex was pretty mad, he said he had been there on Tuesday so it was Kurt’s turn to come over.

I started to cook dinner, we ate at five thirty. After dinner we watched tv and exercised. Then we put away Alex’s toys and Alex got into his pajamas. We watched Cosby and Alex went to bed.

I woke up before eight thirty. Alex slept in our bed last night. Something seemed to be bothering him but he wouldn’t say anything. In the middle of the night I felt his leg go across my stomach. I had to move his leg twice before Alex finally stopped doing it.

After doing my blood I had breakfast then I gave Kelly his medicine and had a shower. I had to dry my hair in the kitchen since Alex was still asleep in our bed.

Alex woke up at ten o’clock. He’s not feeling very good. I took Alex’s temperature which was normal and gave Alex his breakfast. He wanted fruit cup first then cold cereal.

I exercised downstairs then it was time for my snack.

After lunch Alex phoned Patrick to come over and play. Alex and Patrick played while I wrote in the journal. Alex went to Patrick’s house at two thirty. Alex said remember to phone me at the time I wrote on the paper. Then he said if you forget just look at the paper.

I phoned Alex at three thirty. I thought it was a bit soon but that was the time he wanted to come home.

I started to cook dinner and we ate dinner at six o’clock. I wrote in the journal until seven o’clock then I exercised before taking my blood.

Alex and I put away his toys. Alex watched Cosby and got ready for bed. It took him quite awhile to get ready. I had to keep on asking him if he was getting ready for bed. Alex was in bed by eight thirty.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 23, 1989

I woke up before nine o’clock. I did the urine test and blood test then I had breakfast. Alex was still asleep so I had a shower and gave Kelly his medicine.

After I had gotten dressed I tided up the house. Alex woke up just after ten o’clock. He helped me put away all his toys which seemed to be scattered throughout the house. Then Alex had his breakfast. I took my blood test then it was time for my snack.

I did the beds and put away the laundry. Then Alex and I went downstairs and exercised.

By the time I take my blood, eat, exercise and take my blood again; it takes up a lot of time.

After lunch I had to get ready to go to the hospital. I took Alex to Nora’s while I went to the diabetes clinic. Nora asked me how I was feeling. I said a lot better since I changed my diet. I explained that I had to check my blood before and after I ate. Nora thought that was quite a lot. I said yes I’m hoping they’ll cut it down some.

I rushed to get to the clinic and then I had to wait about half an hour. The nurse weighed me, she said I had put on two pounds. Then I did my urine test which showed a bit of glucose. Ann got me to do a blood test to make sure I was doing it correctly.

Then I saw Dr. B, she took my blood pressure which was up from last week. I told her I was hungry and had headaches. Dr. B said it could be form a lack of food or from low blood sugar. She said if it was from lack of food it would show up in the keystone urine test. Keystones can also show up when you don’t have enough insulin.

After seeing the doctor I saw the dietician. I explained that I was hungry and the doctor was going to increase my diet and talk to her. When the doctor did talk to Mary they decided since I had put on weight I shouldn’t eat anymore except more free vegetables.

Dr. B said to test my blood three days for one week and two days the next week. She said as long as the blood sugar stays about the same I can continue with that but if it goes up I’ll have to do it every day again.

I left the hospital at three thirty. I stopped at Pharmasave to buy stamps then I came home.

I phoned Nora to tell her I was home and to send Alex home any time.

Alex said he had a good time playing with Lyle and Kurt. He said when they went to pick up Kurt and William from school he saw Brent. I asked him if he waved to him. Alex said no that he had talked to Brent but he couldn’t remember what they had said to each other.

I started to cook dinner. We were going to have steak with mushrooms but when I was cooking the mushroom I found a spider crawling on one so I three them out. That really turned me off eating! Anyways we ate around five o’clock. After dinner we watched tv then I exercised before taking my blood again.

As usual Alex watched two cosby shows, he sure likes that show.

At seven o’clock we tided up the house mostly putting away Alex’s toys. Then Alex watched the second Cosby show before going to bed.

I watched tv and wrote in the journal. At ten o’clock I had my snack. I thought it was never going to get here. I’m so hungry I even get a burning sensation in my chest and it’s not heartburn.

I woke up at eight thirty. I have to be up at eight thirty to test my urine, take my blood and to have breakfast.

It’s hard taking the blood test. It has to be tested ten minutes before each meal and an hour after the meal. so if we want to go anywhere we have to plan exactly what time we’re going.

We went out for dinner then we went to see Mom and Dad. Mom and I went for a walk around the park, we took Geordie. When we came back I tested my blood.

We came home at nine o’clock. It sure is hard keeping on this diet. I’m so hungry and I have a headache most of the time.

I phoned Joan to see how Paige’s birthday went she said they had Paul’s parents over for dinner. I asked her about her blood tests what they were. She said between 8.7 and 13. I said mine are as low as 3 and as high as 7. Joan said it sounds like you don’t have diabetes. I said I took the glucose tolerance test three times. The last time it was 9.7. I said I’m always hungry and I had a headache all the time. Joan said it sounds like you need more food.

I woke up at eight thirty. I gave Kelly his medicine then I had a shower and got dressed. I had breakfast then I went to Royal Columbian Hospital to the diabetic clinic.

When I got there the receptionist took the medical information then told me to go to the clinic. I went to the wrong place and finally ended up at the pregnancy diabetic clinic.

I saw a nurse, Ann. She talked to me about diabetes and explained with pregnancy it’s not the same as not being pregnant. In the pregnancy the placenta puts out hormones or chemicals which can interfere with the work of the pancreas.

Ann showed me how to take my blood and use the machine. It’s the same that Joan used when she was pregnant with Paige. I never watched her use it.

Then I saw the dietician, Ellie who asked me what I had been eating. Ellie also asked about what I had been eating prior to being pregnant. Then she set up an eating plan for me. Ellie said I wasn’t getting enough fibber in my diet.

I didn’t see Dr. B today. I have an appointment next Tuesday. I got home at twelve thirty. Alex asked me what too me so long. I told Alex I had to see the nurse and a dietician and I couldn’t leave any time I wanted to. I knew Charlie and Alex would be wondering where I was!

After lunch Patrick came over to play. We left before three o’clock to go to the doctors. I told Dr. C that when I exercise the baby seems to drop and pushes on my bladder. At one point it felt like the baby was going to fall out. Dr. C said you have enough room inside and I’m not worried that the baby will drop out. The doctor checked my blood pressure then she put the Doppler on my stomach, Alex and I heard the baby’s heartbeat. I also asked about my breasts since to the touch they’re quite warm and red or purple in color. Dr. C checked them and said they seem okay. Alex seemed to be a bit embarrassed by the whole ordeal. Dr. C explained to Alex that was where the baby’s got the milk from. Alex thought that was pretty funny.

Then it was Alex’s turn. I told the doctor that Alex had been complaining of a sore throat lately and that he felt like he was going to throw up. Dr. C took a throat swab, and checked Alex. She said Alex seems to be doing okay. Dr. C gave Alex a balloon then we went to the lab. The nurse said oh a familiar face. I brought the throat swab to the lab and I had a blood test. Dr. B wanted some blood tests done, something to do with my thyroid.

After leaving there we went to London Drugs, Save on Foods and McDonald’s. After having dinner at McDonald’s we went to Mom and Dad’s. Alex has a lot of fun playing video games with Dad.

We got home around ten o’clock. Alex went to bed not long after we got home. I had a snack then I went to bed.

Alex and Charlie went to the market in New Westminster while I was seeing the doctor. I wasn’t too impressed with Dr. B., she kept on yawning the whole time I was there. I asked her a few question but she said you’ll learn all about that at the clinic. Dr. B took my blood and it was 4.7, she said that was good. Then Dr. B gave me a prescription for the diabetic supplies and asked me to make an appointment with the receptionist for the diabetic clinic.

Nora said the house isn’t as wide because the lot is smaller. Their basement looks really good, they haven’t finished the bathroom totally.

We came home at twelve o’clock. I told Alex after lunch we were going out. I have a few things to buy. Patrick came over at one o’clock. I told Alex he couldn’t play now, that we were going out. Alex told Patrick he couldn’t play and slammed the door.

We went to coquitlam centre, I bought a couple of t-shirts and a nightgown. Alex was getting really impatient, he wanted to go home.

We saw Dr. H., he checked Kelly all over. He took Kelly’s temperature which he said was normal but he wanted to check it under the microscope. When he came back he said that Kelly’s bowels were enlarged which were due to his pancreas. Dr. H. said Kelly’s pancreas is having trouble digesting the fat in his body. He said he’s had this problem before and I’ll give you an antibiotic which should clear up the problem. I said I was out of the valium. Dr. H. said he would give more as well and to stay with it three times a day.

We got home at eleven o’clock. After lunch Patrick came over to play and I watched tv. Morgan phoned twice, first to ask Alex to send Patrick home and then she asked Alex to call me to the phone. Morgan said since the boys play together so much we should get to know each other. We decided to meet at her place tomorrow morning.

Alex and I had dinner at five thirty. After dinner we watched tv and exercised downstairs. I didn’t feel very good after exercising, it seems every time I exercise the baby sits very low and pushes down on my bladder which is very uncomfortable.

Alex said then I can give the card I made you. I sat in the living room and Alex gave me his card he made. Alex did a picture of a turtle and water and printed I love you Mama, Alex.

Alex watched tv while I made breakfast. Charlie had gone grocery shopping. When Charlie got home I helped him put away the groceries. Then I gave Kelly his pill and had a shower.

Charlie planted the Christmas tree in the backyard while I tided up the house. Charlie vacuumed the house.

After lunch we went to Save On Foods. I don’t have enough plants for the hanging baskets. When we got home Charlie planted the plants for the five hanging baskets and the three wooden flower boxes.

My leg sure is bothering me today, it’s from tiding up the house. It seems I can’t do very much.

I cut up the vegetables so everything was ready for tonight’s dinner. Charlie helped get things ready.

Alex had a nap around two thirty. I tried to wake him up at three thirty when the Chipmunks were on but Alex kept on saying just wait a minute. After three tries I gave up. Alex woke up at four fifteen and he said he didn’t remember me waking him up!

Mom and Dad came over for dinner at five o’clock. I started cooking the vegetables while Charlie barbequed the steaks. Mom and Dad were watching the hockey game.

After dinner we watched the end of the game.

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 9, 1989

I woke up at nine o’clock. I gave Kelly his medicine then I had a shower. I left to go to the lab at ten o’clock.

When I got there they hadn’t had any patients all morning. That sure was unusual, I had a blood test and drank the glucose drink which tested terrible. I haven’t had anything sweet so it tasted terribly sweet. I didn’t feel very well after, I felt really tired and while I was reading I felt dizzy. I stopped reading and looked through a magazine then I felt a bit better.

I left after eleven o’clock and came home. I had breakfast when I got home. Then I phoned the doctors office to make an appointment for today. Surprisingly enough I was able to get an appointment for today. I have a pain in the lower abdomen again.

I had a late lunch then it was time to go to the doctors. Dr. C says she wants to know every time I have the pain especially if it gets any worse. Alex and I heard the baby’s heart beat. Dr. C used the Doppler so we were all able to hear the heart beat at once.

Dr. C said maybe I had a bladder infection and she would send me for a urine test. So I was back at the lab again. The nurse said what are you here for? I said oh I’m back again for another test.

When we left we decided to go to McDonald’s for dinner. Alex was going to go to the playroom but it was closed for renovations. We stopped at Mom and Dad’s to give them the BBQ racks back. Charlie had cleaned the rust off of them.

We got home just after six o’clock, so we could tape the news! Alex and I watched tv then we put away all his toys and Alex got ready for bed.

I watched tv and went to bed at eleven o’clock.

I woke up at nine o’clock. Alex and I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.

We left for Bellingham at eleven o’clock. The drive was very hard on me, especially any sharp turns. The baby seemed to drop on a sharp turn and press on my bladder. This time I brought crackers to eat on the way down and they helped quite a bit.

We got to the mall around one o’clock. I bought two pairs of pants and a pair of shorts. Clothes sure are cheaper there, it costs $40 for everything that’s without duty and the exchange.

We went for lunch and did more shopping. Charlie bought a fan and Alex bought a turtle trouper.

We left Bellingham at three o’clock. Unfortunately we took the long way home, we missed the turn off.

We stopped and got something to take home for dinner. We didn’t get home until five o’clock. The drive down was really hard on me.

After dinner we watched tv and I rested. I really needed it!

Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 1, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. After I had gotten Alex his breakfast, given Kelly his medicine, I had a shower and got dressed. Then I did the dishes and tided up the house.

We had an early lunch then we left to go to the hospital. It was really busy but that’s pretty normal for Monday.

Mary called Alex for his blood test. I was going to go with him but Alex said to stay there he wanted to go by himself. When Alex came back he said he got his blood test in his arm. I said I’m really proud of you and I didn’t even hear you cry. In a little while Mary came to tell me how good Alex was. I said I was really impressed that Alex did so well. Mary said yes I was impressed too.

We went to the cafeteria, Alex had jello and I had potato chips and a glass of milk. After Alex had finished eating his jello he wanted potato chips but he didn’t want mine since they were salt and vinegar chips.

We went back to the clinic where we saw Dr. K., Dr. S was away again. Dr. K asked if we had seen him before. I said yes back in November remember? He said oh yes. The doctor thought Alex was pale and he asked if Alex had a cold lately. I said he was just getting over one. I asked whether or not when they do the blood test if they check for diabetes. The only reason I’m asking is because there is diabetes in our family and Alex has been drinking a lot more fluids lately. Dr. K said the only test they would do would be to test their urine. I said you mean with the sticks. The doctor said yes. I said well I’ve already done that and it was okay. Dr. K said well then Alex should be okay.

Dr. K asked me what medication Alex was taking. I told him Alex’s medication was Mercaptopurine 1 pill alternating with ¾ pill, Methotrexiate 4 ½ pills and prednisone 6 pills daily for five days. I said I didn’t need any Septra as I had a years supply. Dr. K was really surprised, he said how did you get so many, we don’t usually give that many out. I said the doctor gave me a prescription for that many.

Alex and I went to the pharmacy to do Alex’s prescription. We stopped at the gift shop and Alex bought a police car. Then we went back to the clinic. By this time it was after three o’clock.

Alex was able to watch the Chipmunks and COPS while we waited for his I.V. push. Alex did have quite a bit of trouble hearing as there were two babies crying.

It was four fifteen by the time we left we had gone earlier to get Alex’s medicine. We phoned Charlie to tell him we were going to McDonald’s for dinner. Charlie was surprised we were still at the hospital.

Alex slept all the way to McDonald’s, we got home at six o’clock. Alex had opened his hospital surprise this morning he got Leonardo of the Turtles. He wanted me to play Turtles when we got home but I was too tired to play. Alex wasn’t too happy but I find going to the hospital really tires me out.

Alex went to bed at nine o’clock. I went to bed at ten o’clock.
