Diagnosis: Leukemia; March 22, 1990

Samantha woke up at eight o’clock. That sure was a long sleep for her. It was really nice for me.

After her feeding I had my breakfast, a shower and got dressed. Then I did the laundry and made our beds.

We went to the mall at eleven o’clock. Alex sure is bad in the mall. He can’t stand not to be able to buy something.

At Zellers Alex saw a Turtle lunch box. Alex said he really wanted it. I told him we wouldn’t buy it for him but he could buy it if he wanted to. Alex started to cry, he said I didn’t bring my money. I said we can give you the money but when we get home you must give us your money. Alex agreed to that. In the line up Alex said if I have 18 candies and I ate 6 how many would I have. I said 12, Alex said okay. Alex has $18 at home so he was figuring out how much money he would have left. Now when we got to the car it was a different story. He told us he didn’t buy the lunch box that Pa bought it and he didn’t owe Pa anything. I reminded him of what he told me in the line up. Alex said you don’t understand, to forget it. He knew I was right and was just trying to get out of it.

When we got home Alex went to Luke and Wanda’s house. He played with them in front of our house.

I fed Samantha then I put her into her crib, she was fast asleep.

I wrote a letter to Allison, did laundry, cleaned up the kitchen and wrote in the journal.

We ate dinner at six o’clock. Samantha woke up at that time. I fed her and put her in the playpen but she complained so I put her in the swing. She’s almost too big for it now. She sure has grown in the last month.

It’s seven o’clock and I’m writing in the journal. Samantha will need another feeding then we’ll go to bed.
