Diagnosis: Leukemia; March 1, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. Alex and I had breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.

After lunch I took Alex to his class. I came home and did some work around the house. When I went to get Alex he said they made pita pockets. We came home right after the class.

When Charlie got home I left to go to the doctors. I told Dr. C I was here for a pregnancy test. I said I haven’t been feeling very good lately. I’ve been feeling nauseated, very tired and my right leg is really bothering. Dr. C sent me to the lab with my urine specimen from this morning and said to come back. Dr. C examined me and said that I must be pregnant but she would check with the lab. When she came back she said the test was positive and my due date is October 17th. Dr. C said to come back in three weeks.

When I got home Alex was asleep. Charlie had started to cook dinner which was already ready. I woke Alex up who said he was too tired. He shouldn’t have gone to sleep so late in the day.

After dinner I told Alex we were going to have a baby. Alex was really surprised, he didn’t say very much.

Alex didn’t go to bed until after nine o’clock. I watched tv and went to bed at ten o’clock.
