Diagnosis: Leukemia; April 18, 1990

Samantha woke up at seven thirty. I fed her again at ten o’clock but she didn’t eat that much since she was so tired.

We saw Birgit’s husband at school. I said congratulations. He said thanks. I said I bet you’re glad that’s over with! He said Brigit’s labour was only a couple of hours. I said that sure was unusual the baby was born on Hallie’s birthday. He said yes it was but you know Wendy’s baby was born on the second child’s birthday. I said wow, that’s really unusual. He said we left at six and Brigit had the baby at eight o’clock. I was afraid after hearing Candy had her baby in the car that it might happen to us.

When we got home I had lunch and fed Samantha. I picked Alex up from school but Bonny forgot to asked me if Alex could come over. So I went to school for nothing. I walked part of the way with Lettie and Joy. Joy wanted to keep on walking with me.

Samantha went for a nap when we got home. Charlie came home at four o’clock, I went to get Alex at four thirty. Bonny didn’t even let me come in which was a bit weird. Some people can be strange. I like to know the environment my child is in. She was quite friendly in the beginning but ever since her daughter got whopping cough she’s been a bit funny. She had to be rather cautious because of Alex.

We ate dinner shortly after we got home. Samantha woke up about the time we were finished dinner.

I fed her then she had another nap before her last feeding.

Alex went to bed at eight thirty. We’ve almost finished reading the Turtle book.

I went to bed at eleven o’clock.
