Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 8, 1990

Samantha woke me up at seven thirty. After I fed her I made breakfast.

We make Alex have his pill then take a shower which he doesn’t like. Alex would much prefer eating first!

Charlie and Alex went out shopping around ten o’clock. While Samantha and I had a nap. I really needed it at that point. I slept until twelve thirty. When I got up Charlie was coming back from taking Alex to school.

Samantha woke up while I was making my lunch. I fed her cereal and then breast milk. I’m still having quite a time with her. By late afternoon I was feeling pretty good, not so tired like I usually am.

I had sat in the car when I got to school. Miriam parked beside me, she said she would get Alex and bring him to the car. When Alex came to the car he was really annoyed. He said why didn’t you come and get me. I said Miriam said she would get you. Alex wasn’t too happy. Miriam wasn’t happy with Carter. He ran ahead with Alex before she could tell Alex. So she said here I am standing there with Scott wondering where Alex and Carter are.

Wanda and Luke came to the door but Alex told them he couldn’t play. Then Rick came to the door. I told him Alex wasn’t feeling well. He came back later with a get well card. That was nice of them. Alex put it on the fridge.

Samantha ate at three o’clock and again at six thirty.

Alex went to bed at nine o’clock. I had been talking to Joan. She has to see quite a few doctors. First because of her being diabetic and second because of her loosing one of the twins. She said the doctor said the baby looks healthy but there is still a blood clot which could be absorbed or aborted. If she has any more bleeding to call him right away. Joan isn’t to do anything much but rest to be on the safe side. She says she’s pretty tired anyways.

Samantha ate again at ten o’clock then we both went to bed.
