Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 9, 1990

Samantha woke up at seven thirty. She’s had a cough for quite a few days but doesn’t have a temperature, thank goodness.

Alex didn’t wake up until 7:30 a.m. he had his pill, a shower and had to wait until nine thirty for breakfast.

Samantha only had a nap for half an hour. I gave her cereal and breast milk.

I took Alex to school. Alex asked Patrick to come over but Morgan said no. She’s going to the airport and flying home to see her father, who’s quite ill. Her mother-in-law is coming to look after Patrick and Peter.

I went to London Drugs and bought Samantha a few things; soothers, bibs and a new spoon. I also bought Alex more stickers for his Turtle sticker book.

Samantha was still awake when I got home. I fed her again at one thirty.

When we got home from school I told Alex he couldn’t eat until four o’clock. Of course he was annoyed when I gave him his pill before dinner. He said he was still hungry.

We ate dinner at five o’clock. Samantha woke up at seven o’clock, she wanted to go into her crib at eight o’clock. She didn’t fall asleep until nine o’clock.

Alex got ready for bed he read his book then I read him a story. Alex is doing really good at reading.

I woke Samantha up for her last feeding of the day at ten o’clock. Then we went to bed.
