I slept in Alex’s bed last night. I got up at six o’clock, Charlie and Alex were still asleep. I had breakfast then I had a shower. Charlie got up at seven o’clock. I had to wake Alex up. I gave him his medicine and he had breakfast. Then I gave Alex a bath before we went to the hospital.
We left after eight o’clock and we got to the hospital before nine o’clock. As usual we had to wait, we waited about half an hour before Alex had his blood taken. Dr S said Alex’s blood count was down and he wouldn’t be able to start maintenance or have his LP today. She said we would have to wait another week. Dr S said we wouldn’t know when Alex’s blood count would be up. It would be just a wait and see thing. I find it quite frustrating not know what to expect from week to week. Alex’s ANC is very low and he shouldn’t come in contact with too many people.
We got home after eleven o’clock.
I don’t know what it is but Alex is always after me it seems. He wants me to do this and do that. He continually talks to me. I wonder when I’ll feel more like myself. I’m always tired.
Marla phoned and invited Alex to Lanie’s birthday party I told her I would phone her back and let her know if he could go. Marla said Paxton had to go to the hospital for some tests. His growth rate is very low and when he does grow he losses weight. I really felt for her, it reminded me of when we went to the hospital in the beginning when Alex was first sick. I was upset by the whole thing.
I went to the mall and did some shopping. Mostly it was to get away from it all. When I got home, I went outside and did some gardening.
Alex wanted me to play with him. We went to the backyard, Alex played in his swimming pool.
We had dinner around five o’clock. Shirley dropped by at six o’clock. She thought if we hadn’t had dinner we could order something in. I made her dinner. Shirley left at nine thirty.
I cleaned up the house and went to bed after eleven o’clock.
