Diagnosis: Leukemia; July 28, 1987

I woke up at eight o’clock. I had breakfast, Charlie had gotten Alex his breakfast. I was going to do some house cleaning but Charlie had told Alex that we were going to go to the beach today. When Alex heard that he wanted to go right away.

Charlie figured it would probably be better to go early that way there wouldn’t be too many people.

We went to White Pine Beach in Port Moody. Alex sure was excited to go, he brought his pale and shovels. He dug and built sandcastles almost the whole time we were there. It was really hard to get Alex to leave. We told Alex we were going to McDonald’s. He finally said okay let’s go. We went to McDonalds and ate inside then we went home.

Now that Alex is allowed to do more things he wants to do everything at once. When we left the hospital yesterday he said let’s go to Auntie Blair’s place. He was quite annoyed that they weren’t home.

When we got home from McDonald’s Alex wanted to ride his bike outside. Then he wanted to play with his dump truck, cement truck, and his scooper outside.

Alex fell asleep at four thirty while watching TV.

I had to wake Alex up at six o’clock for dinner. He was really cranky that he was woken up. Alex complained all through dinner.

After dinner we all went for a walk.

When we came back, Alex watched TV and I went and had a bath. My hip was bothering me so I laid on our bed with Alex.

Alex went to bed around ten o’clock. I went to bed at 10:30 p.m.
