Diagnosis: Leukemia; October 17, 1989

Samantha woke up around eleven o’clock. It still takes an hour or so to feed her but at least she goes back to sleep afterwards.

Samantha woke up again at two o’clock, five o’clock and gain at eight o’clock.

After I had put Samantha back to her crib I had a shower, got dressed and had my breakfast.

I have no energy what so ever. I have to rest continually. Alex doesn’t understand why I can’t do things with him. Charlie has to get him his meals and drinks as well as give him his medicine. I don’t do anything and I don’t want to either, the way I feel. I find I have to take a nap some time in the day or else I can’t stay awake at night. I don’t know how I did it with Alex when he was a baby.

Charlie packed most of the day and took stuff down to Mom and Dad’s. Charlie phoned Mom to tell her not to cook dinner we would bring a take out down.

Charlie dropped us off while he went to the restaurant. We ate dinner at five thirty. Dad seemed to really enjoy the food, it’s probably been a long time since he has had Chinese food.

We stayed until seven o’clock. I was feeling really tired, I could hardly keep my eyes open.

Alex had his snack and got ready for bed. I also had my snack and went to bed.

Samantha had her last feeding of the day at en o’clock and went to sleep again.
