Diagnosis: Leukemia; October 2, 1989

I woke up at eight thirty. I had a shower, got dressed and had my breakfast.

I did a few loads of laundry, made the beds and wrote in the journal.

Charlie phoned moving companies to get an estimate. Most of them can’t give a firm estimate, it’s done by an hourly rate. It’ll costs at least $500, which is what we figured.

Charlie went out to get more boxes, he met Mom and Dad at the liquor store. They were all getting boxes!

Charlie took Alex to school. At two o’clock, I went to Mom and Dad’s. Mom checked my blood pressure, it was 120/80. I was surprised it had come down. I thought it was going to be up. The two doctors had me rather paranoid with it. There has just been too many things going on this month and no doubt it got to me. Hopefully tomorrow when I go to the diabetic clinic it’ll be the same.

I picked Alex and Carter up from school at three o’clock. They played quite well together. Carter was scared of Kelly so I had to keep Kelly outside. Carter seemed to stay with me quite a bit, he’s a lot like Alex was when he went to other people’s houses. Carter just moved here so it’s understandable.

Miriam came to get Carter at five thirty. She said she had gotten stuck in traffic, she came from downtown.

We ate dinner at six o’clock. Alex said he couldn’t eat as his head hurt. I told him to try to eat a little bit. Alex did eat a little bit.

Alex and I packed a box of toys to make room for baby clothes. The dresser in the spare room, one of the drawers in the dresser.

Then we watched Cosby and Alex put away his toys. He said he was too tired to do it, so I helped him.

Alex went to bed at eight thirty. I watched tv and wrote in the journal. It’s ten o’clock, I’m going to bed soon.
