Diagnosis: Leukemia; September 10, 1989

I woke up at eight o’clock. I had a shower, got dressed and had breakfast. After breakfast I made banana muffins. Alex had one for breakfast. Charlie had two when he came back from grocery shopping.

I put the laundry on, made the beds, cleaned the bathrooms, swept the floors and vacuumed a few spots in the house.

Betty-Sue from Royal LePage brought a client through at noon. She’s expecting November 28th. I thought she was due before me. Her client asked if we were competing!

Not long after they left Mom and Dad came. They brought Alex a painting smock and army socks. They also bought a box of diapers for the baby.

They didn’t stay very long, they took Kelly with them. Better for Kelly as he can’t come in the house yet. Some more people are coming at four o’clock.

We went out after they had left. We looked at a few more houses, went to Pharmasave and came home.

At two thirty Lex from Sutton came. They weren’t suppose to come until four o’clock, we weren’t’ exactly ready.

We had just gotten Alex into bed and it was pretty hard getting him into bed.. First of all he refused to get into bed. Then he got mad after he had his story. He said Pa wouldn’t let him get his Kleenex. Charlie said he never said that at all. When Alex heard there was someone coming he had a fit. He started to cry, he said he couldn’t be in bed when someone is coming in the house. I told him to get out of bed but when they left he had to go back to bed.

The client that Lex brought works at the same company as Charlie, that sure was funny.

Mom invited us for dinner, she had left us a message but we didn’t get it.

Alex and I went down after four thirty. Charlie was waiting for Dean to phone back.

After dinner we played a game of cards. Alex watched Howard the Duck. Alex says it’s a really good movie. It looks pretty silly to me.

We came home at eight thirty. Alex had a snack and got ready for bed. By the time he got into bed it was ten o’clock. I went to bed as well.
