Diagnosis: Leukemia; September 27, 1989

I woke up at eight o’clock. I had a shower, got dressed and had my breakfast.

I tried doing nothing like Dr. B said but it’s very hard. For one thing I feel so much better now then I did in the beginning of the pregnancy. I found doing nothing is boring as well as depressing. Now that we’re moving I keep thinking of all the packing to be done.

I picked Alex up at three o’clock and we came home. Alex watched tv while I rested.

Alex has a new friend at kindergarten named Carter. Carter wanted Alex to come over and play at his house but his mother was going out. We arranged for tomorrow and Carter to come to our house another day. I was surprised that Alex wanted to go to someone else’s house. He hasn’t been to anyone’s house for a very long time.

We ate dinner at six o’clock. After dinner we watched tv. Alex put away his toys, he realizes I can’t do it and he’s very good about putting his toys away.

Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I watched tv, wrote in the journal and went to bed at eleven o’clock.
