I woke up at eight o’clock. I had woken up quite a few times in the night. I was just having a good sleep when Alex woke me up. I was in a deep sleep, oh well. I made Alex his breakfast then I had a shower and got dressed.
I made the beds and put away the dishes. We took Alex to school and Miriam gave me their address and phone number. I told her Alex was diagnosed with Leukemia and he couldn’t be around anyone who is sick. I asked her to get Alex to phone me when they got home, if she didn’t mind. It makes me feel so much better. She said it would be no problem. I told her Alex has a cough and if she didn’t want Alex to go home I understood. She said no, it was okay. She said it must be hard with Alex being ill. Did he go to preschool? I said it’s hard and he didn’t go to preschool. She said it’ll be harder for him not getting sick. I said we’ve already noticed since Alex started school there’s not much we can do.
Charlie and I drove to Mom and Dad’s but they weren’t home, so we drove around Ranch Park. We saw a new listing on Daybreak. Charlie phoned Dean when we got home. It’s listed by ReMax for $209,000!
Mom phoned to say they had come by. I said we came to see you! We must of just missed each other. I told her we saw a house on Daybreak but it’s $209, 000. Mom said you should take a look at it they might come down. They would have to come down twenty or thirty thousand, which I doubt they would. Mom said you never know. I told her I would be down later.
I waited for Alex to phone me. He phoned at three ten, he said he had a good time at school and he was at Carter’s. I asked to talk to Carter’s mom. I told her I had to go out and gave her Mom and Dad’s phone number. I said I would pick Alex up at five o’clock.
I went to Mom and Dad’s, I asked Mom to check my blood pressure. It was still 140/80, I was hoping it would be lower. Mom thought it was good but I told her the doctor said it wasn’t.
I picked up Alex, the house was a bit hard to find. It’s a dead end street and the house is hidden. The house is very nice, twelve years old but it doesn’t have a basement. Miriam said it’s 1700 square feet. It seems bigger than that, I asked how much it was. She said they bought it a month and a half ago for $169, 900. I said that sure was a good price.
I met Miriam’s husband Derek, he’s quite tall. No wonder Carter is so tall for his age. He’s even taller than Patrick.
Miriam asked me if Alex knew he was Chinese. I told her I explained to Alex he was Chinese and Canadian. Alex had told me he wasn’t Chinese. He was Canadian just like me. Miriam said Carter said the same thing.
Derek thanked Alex for coming. I said thank you for having him.
When we got home, I started to cook dinner. We ate dinner at six o’clock. We watched Cosby, of course then Alex watched three Cosby’s. he went to bed at eight thirty.
I watched tv and went to bed at ten o’clock.
