I woke up at eight thirty. Alex and Charlie were already up. After Charlie had finished his shower, I had my shower. Charlie went out shopping by the time I got out of the shower.
Alex and I had breakfast then I cleaned the carpet where Kelly had thrown up. I thought I had gotten it last night but I didn’t. Then I made our beds and tided up the house.
I left at one o’clock to go to the diabetic clinic. Charlie took Alex down to Mom and Dad’s.
I got to the clinic early, there weren’t very many people there. I had to wait quite awhile before the nurse came to weigh me. It was two o’clock by the time I talked to Ann. My glucose had gone up but I had a bran muffin this morning. I told her my right ankle had been swelling up the last few days.
Then I saw the doctor, Dr. B will be back next week. The doctor took my blood pressure and measured the baby.
Next I saw Mary, she said I had put on a pound but that was okay. She asked if I had any swelling. I told her my right ankle had started to swell. I also asked if that was due to my diet. She said only if my blood pressure was to go up it would. She said usually when your pregnant the body wants to put on weight and retain fluids. Therefore that’s why the body swells up.
Then I had the non stress test, it sure doesn’t take very long. The baby moved about fifteen times while I was there. This time I had one contraction but I didn’t feel anything.
By the time I left it was two forty five. I stopped at London Drugs on the way to Mom and Dad’s. I bought a new thermometer in Celsius. It’s easier having it in Celsius when that’s what the hospital uses. I also bought Pearl’s birthday present and Alex a Curious George book.
Alex was playing Mario with Dad when I got there. I stayed for a little while then Alex and I came home.
We ate dinner at five thirty. Kurt brought Alex a birthday bag and told me he was sorry Alex couldn’t come to his party. I told him Alex had a present for him and told him to wait. I gave him the present while Alex said Happy Birthday Kurt!
After dinner Alex and I colored some pictures we had drawn. Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. I watched tv, wrote in the journal and will go to bed soon.
