I woke up at seven thirty. I had a shower, got dressed and had my breakfast. Alex was already up and playing with his turtles.
I made and changed the beds then I got ready to go to the hospital. I had a time finding a parking space. The parking lot was full so I parked on the street.
The nurse took my weight, I had put on weight but not as much as two weeks again. Last week I had lost weight so from two weeks ago my weight is not yet the same.
Then I saw Ann, she said the blood sugars are good. You don’t have too much longer to go. I said yes, I can hardly wait. She asked me about the swelling in my feet. I said it seems to come and go.
I saw Dr. B next, she asked me if I had any swelling. I told her in my feet, mostly my right foot. She said they don’t look too bad. Dr. B asked me if I had any trouble with my blood pressure. I said not that I know of. She took my blood pressure, sitting up, lying down and on my side. Dr. B said my blood pressure was up. I asked her what my blood pressure was? Dr. B said it was 140/80. The last time I remember my blood pressure was 110/60 so it’s really up. She asked me when I was seeing Dr. C next. I told her this Friday. Dr. B said she would be phoning her this afternoon to see if she wanted to see me earlier.
Dr. B said I want you to rest more, don’t do any work and no grocery shopping. She asked how I had been sleeping. I told her the last few nights not very well. She said how come. I told her the baby has been kicking a lot so it’s been hard to sleep. I’ve been taking my son to kindergarten. Dr. B asked if anything stressful was happening. Not that taking Alex to kindergarten is stressful. I just find it very tiring. I also told her the problems Alex has been having due to his blood counts being so low. She asked how long he has had Leukemia. I told her for two years now. Dr. B said that’s a good sign. I can tell you not to worry but that’s a hard thing to do. Did he have a bone marrow test? I said yes and he has to have another one next month. She asked why is that. I said because there were immature cells either from it being done too soon after chemotherapy or it being cancer cells.
Dr. B asked me to ask Mary about salt. When I told Mary she said are you retaining fluids. I said yes and my blood pressure is up. She said then the foods you should avoid are ham, processed meats, cheese, pickles and goods that obviously have salt like chips and pretzels. Also no salt on cooked food but you can cook with salt.
Mary said your weight is okay, you put on this time. So all you have to do is have your non stress test.
I had to wait a long time for my turn on the non stress test. Unfortunately I forgot to bring a snack so it didn’t help when I was having the test. The baby didn’t like my position and kept kicking for quite awhile. The nurse said the baby has the hick ups. I told her if I change positions it usually stops. After awhile it did stop but the readings weren’t so good as the last few times. I think it was because I didn’t have my snack.
I left the clinic at twelve forty five. When I came home I had lunch right away, I was so hungry I had the shakes.
After lunch I worked on my knitting. I picked Alex up from school at three o’clock.
Alex played and watched tv after school. There are a lot of shows for him to watch like, Super Mario Brothers and three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
We ate dinner at six o’clock. After dinner we watched tv. Alex put away his toys since I’m not suppose to do anything now. Alex went to bed at eight o’clock. He sang me a song they learnt in school today.
In December for awhile I will ride a crocodile down the chicken soupy Nile. Paddle once paddle twice paddle chicken soup with rice.
I watched tv and went to bed at eleven o’clock.
