Diagnosis: Leukemia; May 7, 1987

Alex woke us up before eight o'clock. He was soaking wet and so was our bed. He doesn't want to sleep in his own bed.

Alex gets very irritable and demands that things are done right away. I got Alex cleaned up, dress and then made him breakfast. He eats an awful lot. Before he became so sick Alex never liked eating breakfast very much. Since he's been on Prednisone he eats about three times as much. Alex eats continually throughout the day and his stomach is getting so big. What bothers me is that it looks like Alex's skin on his stomach has stretched as far as it can.

We had dinner after five o'clock. Alex kept on eating until around nine o'clock when he decided it was time he went to bed. I went to bed around eleven o'clock
