I woke up at 9:45 a.m., Charlie was going to Save-On-Foods and he told me to get up. Alex had come into bed in the middle of the night but he had gotten up earlier. Charlie had gotten Alex dressed and given him breakfast. I had breakfast then waited until Charlie came back so I could have my shower. While we waited Alex and I watched TV.
After I had my shower I got dressed then we went outside. Charlie cut the grass, Alex rode his bike and I sat down and watched.
Nora and Kurt came over, Alex and Kurt rode their bikes together. Nora and Dirk have been acting rather strange since I told Nora about Alex. Both of them were avoiding us. They acted like we weren’t even there. Onetime Charlie had gone for a walk and on his way back he had seen Dirk. He went up to talk to Dirk. Dirk said I can’t talk now I have to cut my grass. Later on we saw Dirk talking to the neighbour for about 15 minutes.
To me it was quite upsetting as I didn’t know if they were going to ignore us for a long time or what. After awhile I just ignored the whole situation. I figured it was up to them to make the first move.
When Nora came over with Kurt it seemed like she didn’t want to know too much about Alex. I just kept it short and from now on I’m not going to discuss it unless she asks me.
Nora and I just talked about the neighbourhood and how it was developing. She knows a great deal about what house has been sold and who’s moving in. They left, Alex and I went into have lunch. Alex said he wasn’t feeling very well. Milk seems to bother his stomach, he has been drinking a lot of ginger ale.
Alex didn’t eat his lunch his appetite has decreased a great deal since he has been taken off Prednisone.
I went to Save-On-Foods and bought Alex a cartoon video tape. I came back after two o’clock.
Alex said he wasn’t feeling very well. His stomach was upset and he said he wasn’t going to throw up. We went for a walk I thought the fresh air might make him feel better. Alex stays inside a great deal which isn’t all that great but I guess he feels more secure inside. I know when I’ve been sick I don’t want to go anywhere.
After we came back Alex wanted to lie down in our bed. Alex watched TV while I did some work at my desk. Alex had a few bites of an apple and a cheese sandwich.
I had dinner after five o’clock. We played taxi-driver and then around seven o’clock Alex watched the Disney move, Herbie goes to Monte Carlo.
Alex’s temperature has been up since 3:50 p.m. Usually his temperature averages around 36C but at 3:50 p.m. his temperature was 37.49C. It’s gone as high as 37.98C tonight.
It’s quite worrisome when his temperature goes up. I just don’t know what Alex could get. His ANC is up but I haven’t got the reading from yesterdays blood test, so it might be low again.
Alex went to bed around eight o’clock. I did some more work at my desk until 9:45 p.m. then I cleaned up the house. I started writing in the journal after ten o’clock.
At 10:30 p.m. I took Alex’s temperature and it had gone up again to 37.98C. Alex wants to sleep with the covers on so this will make his fever or temperature go up.
I got ready for bed after eleven o’clock.
