I woke up before eight o’clock. I had a shower and got Alex dressed. Alex wanted hot cereal for breakfast. I got dressed and then we got ready to go to the hospital.
We got to the hospital after ten o’clock. Alex made a glitter star while we waited. At ten thirty Alex had his shot, he tried to pull away when Krisann put in the needle.
When we left we went to take Alex’s stars home that he had done. The woman from Child Life said oh you can’t take them home. I thought how dumb they get them to make them but they can’t take them home. She gave Alex a colouring book to take home.
We got home after eleven o’clock. Charlie went and cut the lawn. Alex wanted to go too, so we went outside. I sat down and read while Alex rode his bike.
Alex wanted peas, corn and French fries for lunch. We went in and I started cooking. Alex ate quite a bit. I had lunch and Alex wanted me to play. He wants to play with me all day long, it sure is tiring for me. First of all going to the hospital is an emotional strain on me. By the time we come home I feel really tired. Then I play with Alex and he’s quite demanding. It’ll be nice when he can see some of his friends. Right now it’s not a very good idea for him to come in contact with too many people. The doctor said chicken pox is going around. That’s all we’d need!
Alex had gravol around two o’clock. I thought if he had it later it might help. It seems that around three thirty Alex feels nauseated. It helped quite a bit , he felt a bit nauseated but not like yesterday where he tried to throw up.
We went outside and came back in at four o’clock. We watched a video and then I cooked dinner. We had dinner after five o’clock. I cleaned up the kitchen and Alex played with his cars and trucks.
I gave Alex his medicine at seven o’clock. Then I got him ready for bed. Alex has had a runny nose today and he has been sneezing quite a bit. I thought if he had a good sleep he might not get it so bad. I read Alex a story and he was asleep by 7:40 p.m.
I put some kitchen things into the microwave cart. I watched TV and wrote two letters.
I wrote in the journal for about an hour. It’s almost eleven o’clock, I’ll go to bed soon.
